For the first time in nearly 15 years, two vile new AUTOPSY tracks — "Horrific Obsession" and "Feast of the Graveworm" — were recorded in September 2008, bringing together Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler for another slice of death and decay. These tracks make up a special, extremely limited (only 1,000) seven-inch vinyl release, titled "Horrific Obsession". This single is available exclusively from Peaceville.com. In addition, a special two-disc edition of AUTOPSY's iconic debut album, "Severed Survival", was released on February 23 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original release.

"It was a blast!" Reifert told Decibel magazine of "Horrific Obsession" and "Feast of the Graveworm". "They came out really good. It just came about. We were thinking last year, '2009 is coming up. 'Severed Survival' came out 20 years ago.' It's crazy. So, we figured we'd talk to Peaceville about doing an anniversary edition, with a bunch of extra notes and pictures. We have old live stuff that no one's heard, so we figured we'd put a few bonus tracks on there. I went through my old cassette tapes. I found rehearsals from '87 and '88. I found some live stuff. All this shit. All this stuff could've been a bonus disc. We then started talking about doing a new song. It's like, 'Well, that's pretty weird. Well, maybe?' Then it turned into two songs. We wrote them just for this special occasion. They're brand new. They'll be on a seven-inch. They'll also be on the bonus disc to 'Severed Survival'. So, it's cool."

Everyone's favorite San Franciscan sickos — an inspiration to an entire generation of death metal bands — unearthed rare rehearsal and live material for a bonus disc, including demo versions of two songs, "Mauled To Death" and "Human Genocide", which were intended for the original "Severed Survival". Also featured in the package is a booklet with notes by the band themselves, detailing the history of AUTOPSY's early years, with rare photos and images.
