ITP SPORTS: WHO DAT?!! NEW ORLEANS SAINTS WIN THE SUPER BOWL OVER COLTS 31-17

People were wondering WHY I was rooting for the New Orleans Saints in the 2010 Super Bowl, after all Eli Manning's brother Peyton Manning is the marquee quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts and ITP author resides in New York and is a die hard GIANTS fan, and still is and will always be. Of course Peyton Mannings brother Eli Manning is the NY/NJ Giants quarterback. It would be awesome to see the Manning brothers compete in a Colts VS. Giants Superbowl and Archie Manning (The Manning brothers dad is former New Orleans Saint) can't lose with two sons as NFL quarterbacks, only to the Saints.
Yep, dem SAINTS just won the SUPER BOWL, DATS who.

Have you ever been to New Orleans? New Orlins (as we call it) is THE most unique city in America, there is NO PLACE, NOTHING like New Orleans. One can go anywhere in America, as almost any U.S. city feels the same with America's corporate Westernized culture, New Orleans is the most unique city America has to offer.
In fact, when I was 6 or 7 years old my foster dad (French Creole-yes another guy named Pierre- I was in foster care from 1973-1979 and adopted in 1979 by a separate family) took me down to NOLA to visit HIS family as his family owned a store, I got free candy, and even being the brat I was, I was treated very well. My dad visited an old friend of his, and I've NEVER to this very day, seen more BATS (about 100 of them) flying in the sky as I did that day.
Of course, GOATWHORE from NOLA, (journal entry below) spoke of the unique New Orleans accents (the late Dr. Margret Wade Lewis could have explained this). The New Orleans accents are not just southern but "Gullah", a French Creole accent, or "Yat" ("Where ya at") and of course the unique cuisine and wondrous jazz, Cajun, zydeco and French Creole culture.
FROM WIKEPEDIA: Less visibly, various ethnic groups throughout the area have retained their distinctive language traditions to this day. Although rare, Kreyol Lwiziyen is still spoken by the Creoles. Also rare, an archaic Louisiana-Canarian Spanish dialect is spoken by the Isleño people, but it can usually only be heard by older members of the population.
It is no wonder that perhaps the best, or most underrated metal scene in America, is south of the Mason Dixon line as within southern culture (anti bible belt/metal culture) a great scene of sludge, stoner/ doom, grind and great metal dominates New Orleans and that tri state Southern region. Not to mention some awesome jazz, blues, Dixie, Cajun, Zydeco, Acadiana and bluegrass, and the best funerals (jazz funerals) ever.
METAL bands/ARTISTS ECT. residing in Louisiana (NOLA-"The Big Easy"- is the birth place of JAZZ btw) : DOWN, SUPERJOINT RITUAL, (Phil Anselmo EX- PANTERA projects), CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, EYEHATEGOD, GOATWHORE, SOILENT GREEN, CROWBAR, CHOKE, ACID BATH, TRENT REZNOR (via the 90's), HARRY CONNIK JR (pianist, composer), THE NEVILLE BROTHERS, ANNE RICE (author), LOUIS ARMSTRONG, THE RADIATORS, BETTER THAN EZRA, JELLY ROLL MORTON, MAHALIA JACKSON, WYNTON MARSALIS, EXHORDER and many, many more.
TWO OF THE MOST UNDERRATED CITIES FOR MUSIC IN THE U.S.A.: AUSTIN, TEXAS, NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA (and generally the southern region of the USA).
I'm sure that the New Orleans Saints winning this 2010 Super Bowl symbolizes the talents and courage of the people of Louisiana as the unfortunate tragedy of Hurricane Katrina, and our government (FEMA) dropping the ball on lower income people is a lesson to be learned, and nothing, not even a hurricane will stop the New Orleans Saints.
This 2010 MARDI GRAS will be very special one for New Orleans.
BTW, GREAT onside kick and good call by the Saints Sean Payton, as the Saints regained possession to kick off the Super Bowls second half. Tracy Porter's interception of Peyton Manning's pass was brilliant, the Saints showed some intestinal fortitude, battling it out breaking the plane for a two point conversion, good job of coaching and challenging calls, good offensive shootout.
This 2010 SUPER BOWL victory is the first in New Orleans Saints franchise history, so now, all NOLA SAINTS fans can take the bags off there heads.
FROM NFL FANHOUSE: There wasn't the typical ugliness that you often find in other cities' championship celebrations -- no flying glass bottles, no overturned cars, no fistfights. No, Sunday night wasn't about destruction. Like the city and the football team that plays in it, the celebration in New Orleans on Sunday was about building: building goodwill, building something better, building the belief that stigmas -- whether it's the stigma that your city is defeated or your football team is cursed -- don't have to last forever.

Congrats to the New Orleans Saints, RIP to my extended foster family in NOLA, WHO DAT, WHO DAT, WHO DAT!!!!!

GOATWHORE MUST BE A HAPPY BUNCH NOW:

Thanks-Stay Metal, Stay Brutal-CONGRATS TO THE NOLA SAINTS, ALSO THE NY JETS had a good season in 2009 as well HAVE YOUR SELF A BOWL OF MIGHTY RAD GUMBO-\m/ -l- ( Here's to hoping New Orleans recovers and rebuilds from Katrina's wrath, ya know what, they already have, who dat Hurricane?) BTW: I'm STILL A GIANTS FAN, the GIANTS and JETS will play in a new STADIUM in 2010.
