BEHEMOTH CANCELS FALL (2010) NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

Polish death metal warriors BEHEMOTH have canceled the bands previously mentioned fall North American tour with WATAIN as BEHEMOTH guitarist/vocalist Adam "Negal" Darski has fallen ill. WATAIN will take over headlining duties in BEHEMOTH's absence.
FROM BEHEMOTH MYSPACE: BEHEMOTH have been forced to drop off the Sonisphere Finland show on August 7th due to health issues. It is unclear if any more of their European festival dates will be effected by this or not. More details are expected to be released over the next few days.
The following excerpt is a statement from BEHEMOTH’s frontman and guitarist Nergal regarding his health and the canceling of upcoming tour dates. “Dear All, I’d like to announce that Behemoth won’t be able to tour for the foreseeable future. I don’t wanna bore you with details here, but I’m sick and am receiving some serious medical treatment. It’s gonna take another few weeks or more for full recovery, and so we have been forced to cancel all the Behemoth shows in August, planned dates in Russia and Baltic States for September and October, and our American tour in November. I know how much it sucks but health comes first. I can assure all of you that when we return, I’ll be stronger than death, and we’ll reschedule every tour as soon as logistics allow. I feel good and strong, my mind is focused, I've got my loving woman by my side, my band mates, friends (never thought there are so many, haha), management, agents and label people are giving me massive support. I can’t ask for more but a little patience now. The fact that we won’t be touring for the next few months doesn’t mean we’ll hibernate. Behemoth will be active on several other levels. In upcoming days you can expect the premiere of our newest video, ‘Alas, Lord Is Upon Me’ which is by far the sickest fuckin’ thing we’ve ever done! The Evangelia Heretika DVD is coming out as scheduled in November this year. Also, check out our Webstore that opens for international markets in upcoming weeks. This is it for now. Stay tuned!”
FROM WATAIN MYSPACE: "As some of you might have heard, BEHEMOTH have been forced to cancel their North American tour.

"To put an end to rumors and speculations regarding how this affects WATAIN's touring plans, know this: THERE IS NO ESCAPE, WE ARE COMING.

"Exact dates and further information will be [announced] soon."

WATAIN's fourth album, "Lawless Darkness", entered the official chart in Sweden at position No. 26 and dropped to No. 37 the following week.

"Lawless Darkness" sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 42 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Lawless Darkness" was released in Europe on June 7 in a limited three-panel digipack edition with die-cut and a cover of DEATH SS' "Chains of Death" as a bonus track.

"Reaping Death", the new CD single from WATAIN, which was exclusively distributed in Sweden via Sweden Rock Magazine, was certified gold in the band's home country on April 21 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry for sales in excess of 10,000 copies. (Note: Each copy of the magazine sold in Sweden was counted towards the certification.)

WATAIN will embark on a European headlining tour in the fall. Support on the trek will come from DESTROYER 666. A U.S. run with BEHEMOTH will follow in November.
FROM BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
The "censored" version of "Alas The Lord Is Upon Me", the new video from Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH, can be viewed below. (The uncensored version is available at this location.) The clip was produced and directed by Dariusz Szermanowicz and Grupa 13, which previously helmed BEHEMOTH's videos for "Ov Fire And The Void" and "At The Left Hand Ov God".

Commented BEHEMOTH guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski: "First of all, we've overcome ourselves with this new video clip. Period. It's something we've wanted to do for a very long time. Pretty much no digital intervention, no blue boxes, no fake shit this time, but great filming, good acting, and a fuckin' awesome storyline. It's disturbing, crazy, and evil. We've had over 70 people working for us on this video so we can easily say it was the biggest production so far. We are beyond excited! Wait and see…"

The director of the video, Dariusz Szermanowicz, commented: "This time we decided to make something different. We'd like to make a video in 'cinematic' style without so many VFX like in last two videos. We found a great location, we had dozen of actors and extras and awesome stylizing. 16 hours of hard work resulted with best video we've ever made!"

As previously reported, Darski was rushed to the Gdansk Medical University Hospital over the weekend to receive treatment for an undisclosed illness. Jaroslaw Burdek, manager of Darski's girlfriend, 26-year-old Polish pop singer Doda (real name: Dorota Rabczewska), reportedly told the Polish media that Nergal had been ill for several days.

It was reported by Se.pl that Darski was taken to the hematology division of the Gdansk Medical University Hospital, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.

Hematology, also spelled haematology, is the branch of internal medicine, physiology, pathology, clinical laboratory work, and pediatrics that is concerned with the study of blood, the blood-forming organs, and blood diseases.

As a result of Nergal's illness, all of the band's previously announced shows — including those in Russia and the Baltic states in September/October and the U.S. tour with WATAIN in November — have been cancelled.

Nergal has since released a statement in which he revealed that the "multi-stage treatment" for his condition can take up to "several months" to complete.

BEHEMOTH will release its second DVD, "Evangelia Heretika", this fall. More details, such as the DVD content, video clips, and pre-order information, will be made available in the coming weeks.

"Evangelia Heretika" will be released in the U.S. via Metal Blade Records, in Europe through Nuclear Blast Records, and in Poland via Mystic Records.
