TERRORIZER MAGAZINE and NUCLEAR WAR NOW PRODUCTIONS report that Christians are trying to stop the previously planned BLACK MASS FESTIVAL scheduled for 11/27/2010 Sydney, Australia, Newtown, RSL.

On 27th November Sydney is playing host to it's own Black Mass Festival with Naxzul and a host of Australian black metal bands delivering their satanic sermons. But it seems that this has riled some of the local christians who are trying to stop the whole thing going ahead. So far the moral crusaders have contacted the venue - Shush at the Newtown RSL - and the booking agent directly with regards to stoping the show, but the venue and booking agent are not backing down and are happy to back the gig. Strike one for Satan. One of the ticket outlets , Le Cabinet des Curiosities, has also been subjected to phone calls asking questions such as will there be a real black mass and will there be sacrifices? No group has put their hand up to reveal where they are from or who they are but have always stated that "we are offended", strike two to Satan.
It's not only the venue and ticket outlet that have been targeted, Both Nazxul and Drowning the Light have received death threats along the lines of "what you are doing is wrong" and "if you play this show you will pay for it" and the straight out "you are as good as dead that night" and the anonymous do-gooders have apparently been monitoring metal forums on the internet to get information. There may well even be a righteous protest outside the gig on the night.
The last word on this is from the promoter, "Tickets have been flying out the door so I am sure it will be a great night and perhaps even better if the Christians come haha." Third and final strike to Satan.
