GWAR: CORY SMOOT MEMORIAL SHOW ANNOUNCED 1/7/2012 THE CANAL CLUB,Richmond, Virginia :MENSREA, CANNABIS CORPSE, ANTIETAM 1862, DAVE BROCKIE EXPERIENCE

Surviving family of CORY SMOOT and GWAR have announced a special memorial show for deceased GWAR member CORY SMOOT (a.k.a. Flattus Maximus)set to take place January 7, 2012 at The Canal Club in Richmond, Virginia. THE CORY SMOOT MEMORIAL show will feature notable acts MENSREA, CANNABIS CORPSE, ANTIETAM 1862,DAVE BROCKIE EXPERIENCE, THRONE FROM ROYALTY and MAKE LIKE MURDER. CORY SMOOT's project THE CORY SMOOT EXPERIMENT will have CD's available of the bands latest offering (CD release Party)at the memorial show.
CORY SMOOT (AKA: Flattus Maximus-guitarist) was found dead on GWAR's tour bus during a border crossing 11/3/2011.

"[Smoot's] wife and I are very close and are working together to make this event happen. She wants Cory to remembered not only as a member of GWAR but an amazing, multi-talented person. This event is to recolonize him for him solo work, too.

"Before Cory's tragic death, his solo record had just been pressed and ready for distribution. This show is to honor the legacy and memory of a great man and all he did to inspire fellow musicians and fans all over the world. All of the bands represented were all friends of Cory's and would like to pay homage by bringing together as much of the local music scene as we can muster."

There have been prizes donated by Guitar Center Richmond, Schecter Guitars as well as merch by many bands. More details will be posted as we get them. These and much more will be raffled off in between each band until we run out!
