ONLY ONE PER COFFIN: R.I.P. Jonas Raskolnikov Christiansen of SLAVIA

Norwegian metal warrior Jonas Raskolnikov Christiansen, vocalist of Slavia passed away to colon cancer yesterday. A scheduled benefit concert "Algir - Støttekonsert For Jonas R. Christiansen" set to take place 11/18/2011 @ The Garage, Bergen, Norway will now be a MEMORIAL concert. Darkthrone, Satyricon, Helheim and Taake are scudeuled for "Algir - Støttekonsert For Jonas R. Christiansen".

FROM "Algir - Støttekonsert For Jonas R. Christiansen": On November 18th, members from high profile Norwegian metal bands, including Darkthrone, Satyricon and Taake, will take part in a live show called "Algir - Støttekonsert For Jonas R. Christiansen", at Bergen's prime rock venue, Garage. The aim is to raise awareness for colon cancer. In addition, Helheim, Gravdal and Slavia themselves will perform in order to help raise funds and provide 31-year-old Jonas Christiansen with a chance to fight the disease.

Diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year, Slavia's vocalist Jonas Christiansen has gone through conventional treatment at Norwegian hospital Haukeland in Bergen but the prognosis has remained the same. After much deliberation amongst Jonas, friends and N.I.F.A.B. (Norwegian Institute For Alternative Treatment), Danish International Clinic for Cancer Treatment Humlegaarden was picked as the best place to help extend Christiansen's life. By arranging this live show, the organizers hope to raise enough money for Jonas to get additional treatment aside that which he has already received at Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen.

Sadly Jonas R Christiansen was found dead in his apartment early this morning. The benefit concert will go ahead as planned tomorrow, but it will serve as a memorial to the musician. More information will be available on the Til Jonas page later.
Following the sad death yesterday of Jonas R Christiansen, the concert tonight will still take place as a memorial to the musician, who succumbed to this cruel disease while still so young. The money raised will now be put towards his funeral, and any remaining will be donated to a cancer charity in his name. Pengene som har blitt donert via Til Jonas siden er blitt brukt på opphold på humlegården. Resterende beløp, samt inntektene fra morgendagens minnekonsert vil bli brukt til å finansiere Jonas sin begravelse og resten vil bli donert til kreftforeningen i Jonas sitt navn.
