RANDY BLYTHE (LAMB OF GOD): SLAMS SOPA (NOISECREEP) INTERVIEW

Randy Blythe, vocalist of Virginia based thrash/metal core warriors LAMB OF GOD slammed the proposed SOPA bill now tabled in the U.S. congress for February 2012.

January 18th, 2012 marked a worldwide Internet based "blackout" SOPA protest from prominent websites WIKEPEDIA, GOOGLE, REDDIT, WORDPRESS, MOZZILA/FIREFOX. Other websites joined in the SOPA protest included METAL ARCHIVES, METAL SUCKS, GORGUTS, SUNN O))) IDEOLOGIC WEBSITE, (honorable mention from) BROOKLYN VEGAN,ROGER WATERS, OATMEAL.COM and many others.

EFF (ELECTRONIC FRONTIER FOUNDATION) drew over 1,000 people at a SOPA protest in front of New York State Senators offices, Civic Plaza in NYC, New York.

ITP V.012 also joined in the SOPA protest (1/18/2012), blocking the metal blog with an anti SOPA petition for readers to sign courtesy of SOPASTRIKE.COM.

The Stop Online Piracy Act would criminalize websites featuring "pirated and copy written" material making the Internet fair use policy obsolete. SOPA opponents state that the SOPA bill is to broad as written and could censor the web infringing on first amendment rights, civil liberties and freedom of speech.
