DEATH TO ALL TOUR 2012: SWEET RELIEF BENEFIT: SEAN REINERT INJURED WITH RUPTURED ACHILLES TENDON

Promoters for the DEATH TO ALL TOUR 2012, a benefit for musicians disability fund SWEET RELIEF has announced (former DEATH) drummer SEAN REINERT is injured with a ruptured Achilles tendon as that injury will require surgery. While SEAN REINERT will remain on the DEATH TO ALL TOUR, the extent of his contribution is unknown as GENE HOGLAN (DEATH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, FEAR FACTORY, TESTAMENT) and DANNY WALKER (INTRONAUT, EXHUMED) will alternate behind the skins as well.

This five-city trek, which will feature a majority of DEATH's amazing musicians, will celebrate the life and music of Chuck Schuldiner, as well as to raise awareness of Sweet Relief Musicians Fund — a charity that provides financial assistance to career musicians faced with illness, disability or age-related problems.

Promoters for the "DEATH TO ALL TOUR 2012", a benefit for musicians health fund advocacy group "Sweet Relief"  have announced special guests for the summer (2012) mini tour: Richard Christy of Charred Walls of The Damned (ex-DEATH), Alex Skolnick and Chuck Billy of Testament, Paul Ryan of Origin, Craig Locicero of Forbidden, Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation,Trevor Strnad and Ryan Knight of The Black Dahlia Murder and Emil Werstler of Daath/Chimaira.                                                                                      Promoters for the DEATH TO ALL TOUR (featuring former members of legendary and pioneering extreme metal band DEATH) have confirmed Florida technical death metal legends ATHEIST. Also, Atlanta, Georgia and Dallas, Texas dates have been added to the DEATH TO ALL TOUR. FROM DEATH TO ALL TOUR 2012 PROMOTERS:

It’s ironic that while promoting a tour to benefit Sweet Relief (a foundation that helps musicians in times of need), that one of the musicians on this DEATH TO ALL tour finds themselves with a health issue. Sean Reinert suffered a ruptured achilles tendon while training for the tour several days ago. He has had the necessary surgery and has started rehabilitation. Sean will remain a drummer on the tour, but to what extent depends on his progress. We are fortunate enough to have Gene Hoglan and tour drum-techDanny Walker (intronaut/exhumed) on the team to help make the most of the situation.

In retrospect, had this been a Cynic tour or any other band completely dependent on their core line-up, the whole tour would have to be cancelled. This situation ironically is exactly what this “DEATH TO ALL” benefit is about! When these guys go down not only do they have to cancel tours etc, they lose months worth of pay and then to add insult to injury (literally) they have to pay outrageous costs for treatment, and in most cases they do not have their own insurance. We are living through an instance of why this tour was even created to begin with. We will stand behind Sean Reinert and support him all the way through his recovery, and in what capacity he can perform on this tour. As we all know, the show must go on!
We ask you to question why every other form of entertainment takes care of its main commodity – the people performing. This could be movie or TV actors, sports figures of any kind, dancers in a troupe or any other number of performing artists. Even the people behind the desks at the representing/promoting companies mostly have insurance. Music is everywhere! In every movie, at every sporting event, basically anywhere you can imagine, music is part of our daily life on some level. The sad truth is that most musicians don’t have insurance or jobs that offer it.
Our goal is simple and this is only the beginning! We hope and encourage others to follow suit in all styles of music. This isn’t just a plight to assist metal music/musicians, in the end this is about taking care of something we all have in common, music.
Come out to one of these shows and witness history! Buy some merch and show your support for struggling musicians in need. After all, next time it could be someone close to you who needs the help.
FROM SEAN REINERT:
"This is a horrible injury. The pain has been off the charts, but I think it's meant to be. I think the grand plan here is to use this as an example for a reason to raise awareness and have an outlet for musicians in need.

"Although I am devastated that I can't perform at 110 percent, I am grateful that my injury is a minor one (one that will heal over time) and still allows me to be a part if this wonderful tour and cause."

According to the organizers, "There will be guest appearances in each city and some cities may have more than one surprise in store. You never know when or where these guests will be showing up, but you can expect to be seeing the following musicians somewhere on the tour."

FROM ERIC GREIF (DEATH/CONTROL DENIED MANAGER):
We all wish SEAN REINERT a complete recovery from his recent injury! ERIC
