Promoters for the 2013 edition of BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR, set to take place 8/8-11, 2013 CATTON PARK, DERBYSHIRE, UK have sent this update as KING DIAMOND will headline BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR on the FRIDAY date.
BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR have confirmed KING DIAMOND, ACCEPT, FOZZY, ANTHRAX, FIREWIND, EX DEO and NEGLIGENCE with more metal acts TBA.
Promoters for BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR have consolidated with METAL 2 THE MASSES to take on METALDAYS (formerly METAL CAMP).

FROM BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2013 PROMOTERS:

Thanks to Bloodstock’s very own Metal 2 The Masses initiative, two of the country’s finest new talents will be heading into Europe next summer to take on Wacken and Metaldays (formerly Metalcamp).

But first up, direct from Slovenia, we welcome NEGLIGENCE to the Newblood Stage. Having supported some of the biggest acts in metal, such as EXODUS, FORBIDDEN, HEATHEN, SADUS and DEATH ANGEL these guys offer up a mix of fast, aggressive, melodic metal, with a mixture of various genres such as thrash and death. Chosen by our good friends at Metaldays and following up from such acts as DOOMED and BREZNO we’re delighted to offer up the first of no less than 30+ breaking metal acts from the UK and abroad.

Further to this with the UK’s very own FURIOUS HORDE also laying waste to the stage at this year’s Metalcamp, the Midlands thrash outfit INCINERY will be looking to the shores of Slovenia to bring the noise!

“Incinery are honoured to be a part of Metaldays festival. Playing such festivals is a dream every band has, but to be able to actually do it is unbelievable. First and foremost, it's the next step for the band, a great opportunity for us to take our music to a whole new audience which is very exciting for us. Plus it's a chance to play along side some of the names that influence Incinery's music.

Our appearance at Bloodstock 2012 has helped to elevate Incinery's presence within the metal community to no-end. The festival gives unsigned acts amazing opportunities with events such as Metal to the Masses, as well as the main festival itself, allowing bands such as Incinery to showcase their material to wider audiences. The support we have received from the Bloodstock team has been immense both during and after the festival!”

Finally the Bloodline CD winners BULL-RIFF STAMPEDE will be stomping to Germany to take part in Wacken’s very own Metal Battle. Our German counterparts have graced former acts such as SNAKEBITE and ACHREN and this time round they’ll be in for another treat – its Kulling Time!!

BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR – Supporting Breaking Metal.

Here at Bloodstock HQ we’re excited to announce our first headliner for 2013. The Grammy-nominated, Danish metal legend KING DIAMOND will dazzle eyes and perforate eardrums in the Friday night top slot.

After a six-year touring hiatus, the band triumphantly returned to the stage in 2012 for European festivals, Hellfest and Sweden Rock. Friday night’s closing performance at Bloodstock Open Air 2013 marks not only their first ever UK festival appearance, but their first UK show of any kind in many years and will be their only UK date in 2013.

When asked about Bloodstock, the mighty King quoth: "I'm looking so much forward to this, we all are. Finally back in England! The people at Bloodstock have gone the extra mile to make this possible, and will be expanding the stage to fit our full production. This is gonna be DARK and very HEAVY!"
