ITP V.09 REVIEW: VREID: MILORG:

FROM VREID:
Hell yeah. Exactly 2 years after I started writing music for this album, it is complete. 9 songs are now send to the Greek meisters at Studio 210 in Berlin for mastering. Artwork will this time be done by the talented Kim Holm, his work for this album is absolutely fantastic, and it takes us in a new visual direction. More info on the album will come soon. After being isolated in my bunker with the mixing for the last 2 weeks, I now look forward to a weekend without a tone of music in the beautiful Norwegian autumn woods. Have a good weekend.

Hváll

FROM METAL HAMMER:

Blending elements of thrash and black metal with folk and progressive leanings, Norway’s Vreid have always echoed the ambition of their music with their frequent live activities, having played across no less than 15 countries and 3 continents in support their last album, V. On something of a career high and still in great spirits after their performance in the national Opera house in Oslo and debut shows in India, the band have chosen London to end the touring cycle for the album and have prepared a very unusual and special show entitled The Last Supper to end on, before the band take a few months off before unleashing a new opus in February 2013
“The London audience has always been fantastic,” explains bassist and songwriter Hváll, “so what better place to celebrate? The London show will include unique special guest appearances by our former member Ese and also Vegard Bakken, the brother of the late Valfar from Windir.”
Vreid of course rose from the ashes of Windir after frontman and founder Valfar tragically died in 2004. His brother Vegard has previously leant his vocals to Vreid as a guest on 2006’s Pitch Black Brigade and at Windir’s final swansong performance captured on the SognaMetal DVD. Ese meanwhile was the only non-Windir member in the original line-up of Vreid and played with the band on their first four albums before departing three years ago. For this show Vreid promise to perform songs from all of their albums, as well as a new song and songs that have never before been performed live.
Come celebrate this special event with Vreid in London Sunday 4th of November.
