FROM HOUSECORE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL 2014 PROMOTERS:

IT’S TIME FOR ROUND THREE!

Heavy metal legend Philip Anselmo and best-selling true crime author Corey Mitchell’s groundbreaking horror-meets-metal extravaganza, the Housecore™ Horror Film Festival, has already released several huge jaw-dropping bands and film events for this year’s lineup including the Official 40th Anniversary Reunion of the surviving cast members of THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, including “Leatherface” himself, Gunnar Hansen; a TXCM 2 reunion with the cast including Bill “Chop-Top” Moseley; and a U.S. exclusive combined headline performance by the legendary Glenn Danzig of immortal classics from both DANZIG AND SAMHAIN!

Now, they’ve returned for their biggest announcement yet, the return of Philip Anselmo’s legendary band, SUPERJOINT!!

It’s all going down at Emo’s in Austin, TX, right before Halloween, between the unhallowed dates of October 23-26, 2014.

Anselmo is keeping a lid on the details at this time, but did state, “If people want to hear Superjoint jam a badass set, then we're all for giving the people what they want! You wanna hear it? Then bring your asses to Austin, Texas, this October 23-26!”

But wait, there’s more!!!

GWAR - HHFF Creative Director Tammy Moore stated, “I just got back from the GWAR-B-Q and can honestly say that, despite their monumental loss, the band proved that GWAR isn't just one man. It's a collective that more than lives up to it's bigger than life mythos. These guys love Phil and the Housecore Fest and we're completely stoked that our patrons will get to see first-hand why Oderus himself must be beaming from the home planet at the force with which his brothers carry on the legacy!”

VOIVOD - Anomaly. Seminal. Iconoclasts. A “band’s band.” These are the nebulous words that sum up a group of artists now in their third decade of collaboration and creation. Four young men in Quebec, addled by art, high on hash, fueled by Venom and Motorhead. Post-heavy metal, pre-MTV. The ‘80s were upon them and the threat of nuclear war seemed almost inevitable.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE – This “underground supergroup” featuring Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod, Arson Anthem), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Sanford Parker (Minsk), and Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) brings an industrialized sludge that conjures up an impossible-to-pinpoint kaleidoscopic synthesis of mechanical decomposition, atmospheric abnormalities, and poetic putrefaction.

MOBILE DEATHCAMP – This is what happens when an ex-GWAR member, Todd Evans, crafts speed metal so sharp it can justifiably be classified as a weapon.

WAR MASTER - Houston, Texas based death metal sensations have generated an ear-splitting buzz with their full-throttled thrashing attack.

Anselmo is pumped for the sequel to HHFF. “This year's Housecore Horror Festival, Part 2, will once again be a blast, and I encourage anyone who fancies themselves a TRUE Horror fan to join us in another memorable, insane event! Films, Texas Chainsaws, special guests, and incredible bands galore!”

Indeed, this final round of additions joins an already immense list of bands that features a hugely diverse array of metallic talent, including:

Danzig, Samhain, Neurosis, Eyehategod, Satyricon, Cattle Decapitation, Portal, Macabre, Unearth, Decapitated, Lustmord, SubRosa, KEN mode, King Parrot, Wizards of Gore (AKA Rigor Mortis), Hobbs’ Angel of Death, Warbeast, Ringworm, Acid Witch,Archspire, Author & Punisher,Witchburn,Fulgora (featuring members of Pig Destroyer & Misery Index), Krigblast (featuring Felix Griffin from D.R.I.), Gasmiasma (feat. Pat Bruders of Down), Heavy As Texas (Feat. Marzi Montazeri of Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals), Evil United (featuring Jason McMaster from Watchtower & Dangerous Toys), Skan, Child Bite, Chant (feat. Bradley Bills of Die Krupps), an Images of Violence reunion, and Dead Earth Politics.

…PLUS special guest comedian BRIAN POSEHN!

On top of all that, the one and only Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) will be joining in the fun with us at HHFF this year. He’ll be on hand for a live interview after a special screening of “AS THE PALACES BURN” and is set to be a guest presenter at the Rotscars.

This outstanding collection of heavy metal’s best and baddest will be joined by the aforementioned casts of the TXCM movies. There will also be several 35mm films screening including classics from Dario Argento (CREEPERS aka PHENOMENA) and Lucio Fulci (GATES OF HELL aka CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD). Also, nearly 100 screenings of horror films, heavy metal movies and true crime classics will be announced in the coming weeks. Be sure to check out the VHS Vomitorium, the Vendors of the Damned, and special effects demonstrations at this year’s festival.

THE VHS VOMITORIUM

HHFF Cellulord Justin Giallo, a VHS connoisseur and former programmer for the Grindhouse Theater in Tacoma, Washington approached Mitchell with an exciting new idea, The VHS Vomitorium. It will take place in the Celebrity Autograph room, after all signings are completed each night, from 7:00pm until 2:00am, or later.

The Vomitorium will be inside a small room filled with comfortable beanbags and couches and a big screen television that will be hosting beloved horror films from the ‘70s and ‘80s, all on VHS cassettes. The Vomitorium will be the perfect chillout escape room from all of the heavy metal and horror chaos that will go down inside Emo’s, Midway’s, and the Grindhouse Tent.

Anselmo’s love for the VHS format is well documented. In an interview with Rue Morgue, he declared “I wish I could get all of my horror movies on VHS. It’s my favorite way to watch films.”
