ITP V.014 THE MUSIC BUSINESS: NOT ONE SINGLE 2014 RELEASE WENT PLATINUM

Awww. As already known in the music industry for almost a decade, platinum sellers are few and far between as (of yet in 2014) not one single U.S. release went platinum.

So are the lack platinum sellers in music a symptom of lack of musical quality, digital music format competition, or is the  potential musical market zoned in on the underground, bubbling to take over with substance?

Are lack of platinum musical sales a symptom of illegal downloading?

Do people even BUY music anymore of any format?

Are artists NOT associated with the RIAA included in this survey and are they splitting the release sales market (splitting consumer dollars) compared to (and with) the mainstream chart artists? If so ITP V.014 is optimistic, although we don't expect underground genres and artists to go platinum, unless an apocalyptic ritual happens and the tide turns our way, preferably without compromise.

DUFF MCKAGEN (GUNS AND ROSES/VELVET REVOLVER) states no one listens to full album releases anymore as this is due to the change of release formatting from vinyl to CD and digital where skipping, changing order of tracks and over all filler tracks replace a full length of quality music.

Perhaps all formats of music, including internet streaming and video services should be included, as consolidated since the turn of the new decade to include sales.

Forbes magazine reports on lack of platinum musical sales proving, the mainstream may indeed SUCK.

FROM BLOOD MUSIC:
So, it's really happening.
We're 4/5 of the way through the year, and not one 2014 album by a single artist has gone platinum. This is the first time in the modern history of the USA platinum certification that it hasn't occurred. Last year, 5 albums had gone platinum by this point. Now, 0.
Album sales are also down another dramatic 14% this year since last year.
You could basically replace the ship in Titanic with a giant CD, and the story would still make sense.
