ITP V.015 TECH SAVY: TOTAL WIPES MUSIC GROUP SPAMS FALSE DMCA TO DOMAINS

German based digital music group TOTAL WIPES MUSIC GROUP has publicly apologized after spamming hundreds of (non infringing) domains (including SKYPE and JAVA) with false DMCA complaints regarding (you guessed it) unrelated URL's over the word DOWNL**D.

After a public outcry, TOTAL WIPES MUSIC GROUP has publicly apologized to all domains and url's adversely affected stating a bug caused the inaccurate DMCA spam (most likely a mis programmed copy right bot).

ITP V.015 EDITORS NOTE:
Ridiculous. Of course two of the "allegedly" infringing URL's are JAVA and SKYPE as I hope both software companies sue and "wipe" the floor with this asinine copy right bot. The same goes for RELAPSE RECORDS copy right bot RECORD NANNY, catching unrelated URL's for false copy right claims is bogus and unethical, bots like this should be black listed. Totally shameful. The copy right bot company (Total Wipes) claims a "bug" provoked the false DMCA complaints, most likely, faulty software bot programming. https://www.techdirt.com/…/total-wipes-decides-word-downloa…

FROM TOTAL WIPES MUSIC GROUP:
Due to technical servers problems on the first february week our script sent hundreds DMCA to hundreds domains not related at all any copyrights of our contents.
It was our fault, no doubts about it. The DMCA is a serious issue and it must be carefully managed.
We contacted most of these domains but it was too late, the DMCA had already been sent. Google rejected most of these wrong DMCA but we totally understand the damage of it for small and medium companies that have to remove and manage them manually. It was a bug just on that week. However, our Antipiracy system has been taken down a week ago in order to add more improvements and avoid any future sending of wrong DMCA.
Our apologies again for all sites involved and thanks to all persons that reported us the issue.
Cheers

Finally we got the updated report of all our DMCA sent on that tragic february week:
1,3% not delivered
2,02% wrong delivered
0,67% right delivered
97,29% rejected

Detailed list availbale as private message.
That doesn't make our anti piracy system a better tool but almost 100% of involved websites won't have any trouble because us at least.
As said we have taken down the service and adding all filters needed for avoiding any further trouble.

Cheers
