ITP V.015 BOOK READING: GWAR: "LET THERE BE GWAR"



Richmond, Virginia metal legends GWAR have announced a new book chronicling the legendary bands rise,  GWAR: "LET THERE BE GWAR" compiled by  BOB GORMAN and ROGER GATSMAN, and due to be unleashed AUGUST OR SEPTEMBER 2015.

 GWAR have also recently announced a fall 2015 U.S. tour entitled  “30 Years of Total World Domination Tour” with BATTLECROSS and BUTCHER BABIES.
  GWAR have also announced B-Q 2015,  set for THREE DAYS  August 14-16, 2015 @ Hadad’s Lake (7900 Osborne Turnpike) in Richmond, Virginia.
GWAR B-Q 2015 will feature DOWN, GOATWHORE, THE DICKIES, THE DESCENDENTS and more punk, and extreme metal bands..And GWAR too.   






 Richmond, Virginia based metal legends GWAR have re-issued "America Must Be Destroyed", 4/18/2015 on RECORD STORE DAY as the band will appeared (on that date) at ASYLUM RECORDS, MESA ARIZONA 12-3PM.









 

GWAR main man DAVE BROCKIE's (AKA ODERUS URUNGUS) was investigated by Richmond, Virginia police as drug related. DAVE BROCKIE (AKA: ODERUS URUNGUS) vocalist of  GWAR was found DEAD Sunday 3/23/2014 at 50 of an accidental heroin overdose..

                                                                                                                                  










GWAR guitarist CORY SMOOT (FLATTUS MAXIMUS) passed away on the band's tour bus in 2011.







 GWAR have been an active band since the late 80's, as the band concept was started by Virginia University college art students.

The hardcover book is over 350 pages, with a lenticular cover, and features 30 years of GWAR and Slave Pit Inc. the production company behind the band.
The book was compiled by Bob Gorman and Roger Gastman
Gorman began working with Slave Pit and GWAR in 1988. Today he serves as secretary, shop foreman, performer and visual artist for Slave-Pit. He began GWARchiving GWAR and Slave-Pit history in 1997, and this book is the result of that effort.
Gastman, the self-proclaimed “curator of culture” was the brains behind infamous “While You Were Sleeping” and “Swindle” magazines, has packaged over 3 dozen books for small publishers, curated gallery shows MoCA, the Corcoran, and countless other and has produced or worked on several documentaries concerning Graffiti or subculture in general.
