FRANKFURT DEATH FEST 2016, 3/4 and 5th, 2016 FRANKFURT, Germany suffered many complaints as AVULSED, CARNIVORE DIPROSOPUS, LIVIDITY, INHUME, BLOODSOAKED and many more bands dropped off and cancelled as the festivals promoters did not pay for the bands flights.

DON’T go to the festival!! You’re warned!! It’ll be a fiasco!! Ask for a refund if you already have a ticket!! You won’t see the fest that you’ve paid for!!

After being announced for more than three months as headliners of the Frankfurt Deathfest, AVULSED will not play because of a last minute fiasco from the organizer. Other bands like LIVIDITY, GUTALAX, PUTRID PILE, CARNIVORE DIPROSOPUS and we’ve just heard that DEAD INFECTION & INHUME too, have been cancelled as well.
Today at 5am we were at the airport to get flights to Frankfurt and when we were doing checking, they said our names didn’t appear on the list. We had a confirmation with flight code, etc, but apparently, the promoter just bought the flights and later he cancelled them getting his money returned and worst of all, he didn’t say anything to us!!
So we phoned him at 5:30am and at first he didn’t pick the phone, but on 2nd try, a girl (his girlfriend) spoke to us and was trying to wake him up desperately, but he didn’t react. She said he was like dead. She said they were sleeping in a car in the middle of a parking… Totally surrealistic!!
This doesn’t come to our surprise as we’ve been warned by some people not to trust Mario Hackebeil (the promoter) as he already had many problems in the past with bands and clubs, owing lots of money. We’ve been warned that he’s a crystal meth consumer, hence why he didn’t wake up, haha!!
So we were cautious enough not to get fooled by him when he first told us last December to buy tickets and he would pay later. We said NO. We said that he must buy the flights upfront as a guarantee. He finally bought them one week ago, but with a mistake on the way back (Tuesday 8th instead of Sunday 5th). Then he changed and sent new confirmations, but not you know the rest of the story.
Most probably, seeing that he was going to lose money with the festival, he decided to cancel flights for PUTRID PILE, CARNIVORE DIPROSOPUS & AVULSED and who knows what else…
We’re very sorry for all the other bands that have been fooled like us and specially all our fans that really wanted to see us, but there’s nothing we can do about this. This morning , Mario’s girlfriend suggested us to buy tickets ourselves and then “trying” to get money from Mario afterwards, but sorry… we couldn’t help laughing about that stupid idea…
To be honest, we’re not that angry about this, but very surprised that after 25 years, something like this happened to us!! We were warned about Mario and seeing that he didn’t buy the flight tickets one week before, we just thought we weren’t going to play. We took it easy. Then he bought, but we never expected this trick!! Too nasty!! And not to mention he never took care of anything related to backline, hotel, food, or anything. Totally unprofessional!!
So… please, boycott this festival TODAY, don’t go and if you already had your ticket, go and ask for a refund right there!! FUCK OFF FRANKFURT DEATHFEST!!
