HELLFEST FEST 2016 6/17,18th, 19th, 2016 CLISSON, FRANCE ANNOUNCE: DOWN DROPS OFF FESTIVAL, PUSCIFER CONFIRMED

HELLFEST 2016, set to take place 6/17,18th, 19th, 2016 CLISSON, FRANCE may stand to lose $20, 000 in government funding over New Orleans, Louisiana (U.S.A.) sludge metal warriors DOWN as vocalist PHILIP H. ANSELMO screamed "WHITE POWER" at the 2016 DIMEBASH.

DOWN have now dropped off the bill as HELLFEST 2016 PROMOTERS and PHILIP H. ANSELMO have posted a statement below.

Last month, HELLFEST 2016 promoters have posted an open letter explaining the festivals refusal to drop DOWN. Presidential cultural committee chairman/woman (politicians) GARNIER and RETALLIEAU have opposed PHILIP H. ANSELMO'S behavior at DIMEBASH 2016 and have threatened to nullify a potential $20, 000 French government grant to HELLFEST 2016. .

PHILIP H. ANSELMO (formerly of PANTERA, currently of DOWN, THE ILLEGALS, SUPERJOINT) has sent (another) apology to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. regarding his behavior at DIMEBASH 2016. In consequence to PHIL ANSELMO's behavior at DIMEBASH 2016, his band DOWN was kicked off FORTAROCK 2016 via the festivals promoters.

Late last month, PHIL ANSELMO issued a video apology after sieg heiling and screaming "WHITE POWER!" as he was lead off the stage via former TYPE O NEGATIVE (current DANZIG) drummer JOHNNY KELLY at the end of DIMEBASH 2016.

Promoters for FORTAROCK FESTIVAL 2016, set to take place 6/4 and 5th, 2016 GOFFERTPARK, NIGMEGAN, NETHERLANDS have announced that in response to PHILIP H. ANSELMO'S actions at DIMEBASH 2016, New Orleans, Louisiana sludge/metal warriors DOWN (featuring PHIL ANSELMO) have been cancelled by the promoters of FORTA ROCK and BOSPOP 2016.

Many artists and metal webzines including METALSUCKS, CVLT NATION, MACHINE HEAD, ALL SHALL PERISH and more have spoken out against PHIL ANSELMO's actions at DIMEBASH 2016 and racism.

RITA HANEY, (DARRELL "DIMEBAG" ABBOTT'S WIDOW) has posted a statement via INSTAGRAM regarding PHILIP H. ANSELMO'S behavior during DIMEBASH 2016 and MACHINE HEAD guitarist/vocalist ROBB FLYNN'S recently published video criticizing PHIL ANSELMO'S actions.

Also, REX BROWN (former PANTERA bassist), PHILIP H. ANSELMO and MACHINE HEAD and more jammed on a rendition of the PANTERA classic "WALK".

DIMEBASH was a fund raiser for (late DIO vocalist) RONNIE JAMES DIO'S SHOUT OUT CANCER FUND in collaboration with RIDE FOR DIME.

Plus, the re-emergence of the knee injuries have been plaguing me of late as well, so I must address this too, through physical rehabilitation & rest.

As a result of the latest events, we are sorry to announce that DOWN has to cancel their venue in Europe and thus won't play in Hellfest 2016. We are glad to propose the band PUSCIFER (Featuring James Maynard > Tool's singer) as a replacement. The latter will perform under the Valley on Sunday, June 19th and as for FU MANCHU, they'll play as headliners on Saturday, 18th. We'll keep you aware of all the schedules. Stay tuned.
We also wanted to thank you again for the big support that you showed when we had to make a decision after Anselmo's case! Here is the artist's statement :
