Norwegian re-activated black metal legends IN THE WOODS have revealed the art work, track listing and release date for the bands anticipated new release "PURE", due to be unleashed 9/16/2016 via DEBEMUR MORTI PRODUCTIONS.

17 protracted years after their last fantastic full lenght, "Strange In Stereo", the Norwegian legend In the Woods... rise from its own ashes to deliver a stunningly focused new record soberly entitled, "Pure".
"Pure" combines elements that made early IN THE WOODS... such majestic compositions, with a new-found immediacy and energy. Taking inspiration from the legendary Metal and Rock bands from the 70's to the 90's, the avant garde masters created a collection of 10 huge-sounding, all-enveloping cosmic tales :

About this eagerly awaited new offering, the band comments :
"This is without a doubt the most accessible release by IN THE WOODS… yet. Lyrically, existential and philosophical themes are at the fore ; Elements of psychedelia, alienation and loss interweave, leaving the listener in no doubt that IN THE WOODS… seek to advance their own understanding of the esoteric and transcendental, if were it not already obvious to the listener through the music."
The artwork for this gem was crafted by Max Winter from Teratogen and the front cover is viewable below. The CD version will come with a slightly different cover.
"Pure" is scheduled for release worldwide on September 16th 2016 via Debemur Morti Productions on CD/Vinyl/Digital.
A few months ago, IN THE WOODS... and Debemur Morti Productions gave you the unmissable opportunity to (re)discover the three otherworldly classics released by the band 1995-1999. Indeed, the French label has reunited masterpieces "Heart Of The Ages", "Omnio" and "Strange In Stereo" for the first time in a luxurious coffret 6x12"LP box set and 3xCD box set.
As befits the label, the result is simply sumptuous. Both boxes (CD & LP) are encased in a beautiful slipcase with textured heavy black carton and contain, among other things, brand new artwork realized by the ultra-talented Dehn Sora, lyrics and an exclusive in-depth band story/interview by Yngve M. Jacobsen contained in a substantial book (+60 pages).
