MORTIIS : INTERVIEWED BY INTO THE NECROSPHERE
Oslo, Norway based darkwave, industrial rock warriors MORTIIS was recently interviewed by INTO THE NECROSPHERE.
MORTIIS have
announced FALL 2024 U.S.A. TOUR DATES WITH MALFET AND SOMBRE ARCANE.
MORTIIS, via
BANDCAMP, are streaming the projects anticipated new release "SPIRIT OF
REBELLION", unleashed 1/24/2020 via OMNIPRESENCE.
FROM INTO THE NECROSPHERE :
This week I’m pleased to welcome the godfather of dungeon synth, former bassist for Emperor, the legendary Mortiis to Into The Necrosphere. Our discussion spanned all of his various eras, his decision to return to the stage after a spell on the sidelines. We speak about the realities of growing older as a musician and Mortiis reveals why he almost gave up on music altogether.
Then, it’s on to a rundown of some of my favourite new releases including albums by Other World, ModernRites, Deceased and Concrete Winds. On my weekly news rant I round up the latest singles by Nasty Savage, To The Grave, Veilburner and Vulvodynia for judgement and I give my two cents on a recent interview with Aaron Stainthorpe that provides some clarity on the reasons for My Dying Bride going on hold.
PLUS: Dutch black metal quartet, The Shiva Hypothesis, are back with a new EP and we check out a track on my independent band spotlight.
