On this day in 1914, in the cold and mud of the Western Front, war paused, but only for a moment.

The Christmas Truce of 1914 stands as one of history’s most powerful reminders: even in humanity’s darkest hours, compassion can break through. Hope can survive and peace can be chosen – even if only for a night.
