Promoters for METAL GATES FESTIVAL, @ QUANTIC CLUB, BUCHAREST, ROMANIA have announced the festival will take a break and NOT have an edition in 2026.
FROM MIHU DTS:
It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that Metal Gates Festival will be taking a break and will not have an edition next year.
This festival has been my baby since 2017. We’ve weathered storms together, including the pandemic that forced a pause in 2020 and 2021. Even then, I managed to create "The Temple" in 2021, a smaller gathering to keep the flame alive when the world was still partially closed. The decision to go on hiatus now has been incredibly difficult and comes for a multitude of reasons.
I want to extend my deepest, most sincere gratitude to every single person who has been a part of this journey. To the incredible bands who have graced our stages, to the amazing audience whose energy is the lifeblood of any festival, to the dedicated tech teams who make the magic happen, to Quantic team who has always been the best hosts, to the tireless volunteers, and to my personal team who have poured their hearts and souls into this event—thank you. To everyone who has ever bought a ticket, shared a post, or offered a helping hand, you have my eternal gratitude.
I don't know if this is a final goodbye, but it is at least a one-year hiatus.
This break will allow me to focus on some other exciting projects within the music industry that I hope will help our scene continue to grow and thrive. I’m also thrilled to dedicate more time to my own band, Machiavellian God. We are gearing up for a new album release in 2026, and we have a lot of surprises in store for you all.
My club, Encore Club, is now hosting a multitude of shows, and I want to invest my energy into making it an even better venue for all of us to enjoy live music. Rest assured, I am not stepping away from organising concerts. I will continue to put on club shows at Encore, as well as bigger productions at Quantic and in other cities. I will have some exciting announcements to share with you all very soon!
I am immensely proud of what Metal Gates Festival has become. Through it, I have met so many incredible people, forged lifelong friendships, and built fantastic professional collaborations. These are the things I will cherish the most.
Thank you all for everything. Your support has meant the world to me.
See you in the pit!
