Peter Lindgren leaves OPETH

"To bid you farewell"-OPETH

PETER LINDGREN, guitarist of Swedish progressive death metal legends OPETH has left the band to be replaced by Frederik Akesson.

"It is with sadness I announce that OPETH and I are going separate ways after almost 16 years. The decision has been the toughest I've ever made but it is the right one to make at this point in my life.

"The reason behind this is that I feel that I simply have lost some of the enthusiasm and inspiration needed to participate in a band that has grownfrom a few guys playing the music we love to a worldwide industry. The love of music has always been, and still is, our motive, but I personally have lost something along the way. The massive amount of touring has taken its toll.

"OPETH has workedextremely hard to get where we are right now and in order to persist and maintain the quality of the music, it is necessary that we continue to work hard and always stay focused. But in doing so, it means that we nowadays spend 18 or 19 months on the road and I don't feel the same enthusiasm for the upcoming world tour that I have felt earlier. I have come to a point where I realize I won't be able to give the band 100%, and from both sides this will not be good enough for what OPETH stands for. I will always love playing, listening to, and living music, but I will do it differently from now on.

"These years has easily been the best of my life and I will always cherish the memory of what we have experienced together.

"I would like to thank the band, our management, record label people, all the bands I've made friends with for everything. Most of all, I would like to thank the fans from the depth of my heart for the support throughout the years.

'I wish MikaelMartinPer and Axe all the best and I am confident they willcontinue doing the greatest music in the world!!"

Frederik Akesson comments on joining OPETH:
Ã…kesson said, "First I would like to say that I'm really exited and honored to join OPETH — amazing band and really cool people. I understand that Peter will be missed. He is a great guitar player and a very nice guy... It will be hard to fill his shoes but I will do my best and more.

METAL VS. RELIGION: Jerry Falwell must have read this journal :shrugs: JERRY FALWELL=DEAD CORPSE

Bono of U2 -"My GOD isn't short of cash Mr."

Yep, Jerry Falwell (sarcasm) must have read this journal and promptly keeled over and croaked.                                                                                                                                                                              LOL, cheers, high fives and shots all around, next round is on me. ..As with Jerry Falwell's death, can the "moral majority" die as well?  Damn, Jerry Falwell was annoying to pro choicers, gay rights activists, stem cell researchers, metal heads and anyone whom wasn't a brainwashed, right wing, religious wingnut. Jerry Falwell must have keeled over after hearing gay marriages were being performed in New Paltz, NY (2004), or that MAYHEM, EMPEROR, and IMMORTAL will be touring the states (separately) in the spring and the summer of this year.
"Surprise, you're DEAD"-Faith No More
Yes, "GOD" has pulled the plug on ole Jerry Falwell and if there is (hypothetically speaking) either, "SATAN" is cracking his knuckles waiting for Jerry. However, not a tear shall be shed from US.
I honestly can't say RIP to ole Jerry, but he can say he had a good, "rich" life lining his pockets as a televangelist on poorer folks money huh? LOL.
Jerry Falwell's death is a reminder to challenge his religious right wing agenda. Separate church from state, and keep your religion off of our bodies, and out of our bedrooms. Although I'm an atheist, I believe in peoples right to practice their religion, just separate church from state or better yet separate JERRY FALWELL from the human race.
Here are some outrageously retarded, right wing, and bigoted quotes from Jerry Falwell courtesy of "Brainy":
"I grew up in the segregated South, right here in Lynchburg, Virginia"-Jerry Falwell
I'm not even going to wait to untill Jerry Falwell's body gets cold..I'll say this, that town in Virgnia, "Lynchburg", I don't like the name of that town. Ugh... I'm non white.
..And with this hype, I would like to dedicate VADER's (Polish death metal band)  "Helleluyah, God is Dead" to Jerry Falwell as he is waay to old to act as "GOD" and such an annoying right wing, religious wingnut.
It's somewhat "immature" to make fun of someone whom is no longer with us, but I'm sure he had giggles about socialists whom aren't straight, and metal heads too.
