Wow, It's been 30 years since the firST time ST toured in AuSTralia as support for Alice and Chains!
That was an amazing tour and of course loved being in AuSTralia and it was the STart of making lots of good mates down under over the years.
It's now been several years since we were last there and we're definitely excited to go back.
Tried to do it the "traditional" way and realized if we wanted to to there, we'd have to do it ourselves.
This isn't ideal, but they say, "where there's a will there's a way", and the only way was with some good mates stepping up (one in particular, but more on that later.
That said, below the show dates, venues and ticket links/info are up for 4 dates ST will be playing the entire firST album.
We never got a chance to do that "back in the day", but we're gonna bring it and a few other surprises.
We'll be posted more info soon and letting everyone know how they can be more involved if they choose and help make this an insane Cyco time for all.

I caught up with Maurizio Iacono (Kataklysm,Ex Deo, Invictus) to talk about the forthcoming album "Goliath" from the almighty melodic death metallers Kataklysm which is set to unleash on August 11th via Nuclear Blast.

Following the release of 2020's highly acclaimed Unconquered album, KATAKLYSM had more time than usual to work on the follow up album. Normally equipped with a release every two years, the band had the opportunity to really craft this album over the span of 3 years. GOLIATH, staying true to its name, is an aggressive and mean album that was a product of its own unique obstacles. "There's a lot of anger but also a lot of darkness in this record, it reflects the current mood of the world" comments Maurizio Iacono. "GOLIATH is an album that searches deep into questioning things that are happening on a global scale and inside society itself, are you ok with everything you see?"
KATAKLYSM will deliver a one-two punch with the first and second singles that tell a concise story that is relatable to the current events happening worldwide. "Bringer Of Vengeance" opens with drop tune guitars and takes the listener on a journey mashing together modern Metal and Djent components that are layered over the traditional Kataklysm sound. The second single "Die As A King" is the prequel to "Bringer Of Vengeance" and is the modern update of traditional death metal meets catchiness. The 2-part story will be accompanied by music videos. Tracks like "Dark Wings Of Deception" offer the more traditional galloping guitars over thrash/punk style drums and with black metal undertones.
Maurizio goes on to say, "There's something weird going on around the world, there is a lot of dysfunction. And this record has this mean, aggressive feeling about it. It's also about fighting back, Standing up even if it seems at times impossible to do so...a Modern day David vs Goliath : fighting back for what is right for yourself and the people you love. The record kinda has that type of overall reach."
GOLIATH was recorded at JFD Studios in Dallas, TX and Studio City, CA as well as The Cabin in Orlando, FL by J-F Dagenais, who also produced and engineered the album. For the mixing and mastering, the band returned to Chris Clancy with assistance from Colin Richardson. The cover artwork required an image that captured the iconic battle of David versus Goliath theme that is echoed throughout the album while matching the power of the music. The band handed the reigns to renown Berlin metal illustrator Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE) who took the KATAKLYSM look and gave it a macabre filter that compliments the brooding sense of uneasiness that was felt during the writing and recording of the album.

It’s come to our attention that promoters are still running adds saying we are on the Canadian shows! This however is unfortunately not the truth!
We stepped off the tour months ago when promoters attempted to renegotiate our asking guarantee price… they attempted to change the deal after already agreeing to it by trying to lower the cost to fit their budget! I’ve said this before - I’ll say it again - our guarantee is based upon our talent - not your fucking budget!! So unfortunately Canada is cancelled. We know this may disappoint the fans, but bands need to start standing their ground when it comes to this type of behavior from promoters that attempt to renegotiate the terms of their agreement. Massacre will not be a band that will be forced to take a lesser fee because of the lack of commitment on the booker/promoters part of a deal. If you weren’t getting the expected “ticket sales” you thought you would achieve… here’s a little hint - why not try something called “promotion” - I mean the fucking job description is in the title of your chosen profession - “promoter” - if you want to sell something - maybe you should actually promote it!!

BTW, ITP TEXT is CREATIVE COMMONS and you might look silly as I have bit of black list in the music industry and beyond.
A couple of issues I would like to address:
ITP DOES NOT like PSYCHOTIC people following ITP, you're under arrest, I will sue you.
ITP does not promote local and regional artists/bands and music venues whom have screwed me over, don't reciprocate or bands, labels, venues I don't like.
It is NOT ITP's responsibility for promoting your venue, club or crap band or show, DIY and promote your self, If I don't promote you or your band are awful, the music is awful.
ITP only promotes what SHE likes, go play in your own sandbox.
I don't promote local or regional bands or/and venues just because they are local, nor do I ignore bands and venues from out of state and out of the U.S. .
ITP does not promote main stream music nor mall core..Only extreme metal..
There are a couple of labels that are blacklisted, one that is national socialist.
A few bands are blacklisted from ITP, and one or two venues.
Obviously is someone gets in fight over ITP there will be consequences, NOT YOURS, ITP owns her own copy right.
ITP is not a request journal, it is an extreme metal source for extreme metal news, no hipsters, ITP is my journal.
ITP, while a media partner for most labels,does not write for nor work for record labels and is independent of record labels. ITP is not owned by a record label.
BTW, regarding monetize for adverts, ITP does not normally do adverts and has not committed to monetize, although I'll look into it, depending on timing and circumstances.

Just switch your setting to "SEE FIRST" under ITP editors given name, and you'll see ITP V..024 BLOGSPOT posts.
