TYPE O NEGATIVE: PETER STEELE HAS TREE PLANTED IN HIS NAME

TYPE O NEGATIVE fans have planted a tree in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY in honer of the late TYPE O NEGATIVE vocalist/bassist PETER STEELE. PETER STEELE passed away in mid April of 2010. Before TYPE O NEGATIVE became PETER STEELE's full time job, STEELE
worked for New York City's Parks department.

The tree in the photo above was planted on Monday, November 21 in the name of the late Peter Steele, former frontman for Carnivore and Type O Negative and former employee of the New York City Parks Department.

Said former Type O Negative drummer Johnny Kelly, "[The oak tree planting is] something that's been a long time in the making. A lot of fans took it upon themselves to do something special for Peter. It is something that is in the true spirit of what Peter was about and who he was. This Peter truly would've appreciated."

Type O Negative's six Roadrunner releases (Slow, Deep and Hard; The Origin of the Feces; Bloody Kisses; October Rust; World Coming Down; and Life is Killing Me) will be reissued in a deluxe vinyl box tomorrow and available for purchase in independent record stores as part of Record Store Day.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: ANNOUNCES SPRING/ SUMMER 2012 EUROPEAN DATES

NEW RELEASE AND TOUR FROM "THE BOSS": New Jersey's very own BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN has announced spring/summer 2012 European tour dates and an anticipated new 2012 studio release.

Well, things are starting to heat up down on E Street.

A lot of you have been hearing that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012. That is absolutely correct. The European dates run from the middle of May until end of July and are being announced this week. Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will coming up shortly.

In addition, we want you to know that the music is almost done (but still untitled), we have almost settled on the release date (but not quite yet), and that we are all incredibly excited about everything that we're planning for 2012. That's all the info we have for right now, but we'll get back to you--real soon.

Arizona based black metal warriors ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, currently on a North American tour with MAYHEM, HATE and KEEP OF KALESSIN, left the bands Irish born bassist at the Canadian border. ABIGAIL WILLIAMS will embark on a January 2012 North American tour with DARK FUNERAL and BELPHEGOR.

CEREBRAL BORE: CONFIRMED FOR UK'S HAMMERFEST

Scottish death metal warriors CEREBRAL BORE have been confirmed for UK's HAMMERFEST 2012 set to take place at Pontins in Prestatyn, UK, March 15th - 18th, 2012.

Scottish death metalers CEREBRAL BORE have been confirmed for next year's Hammerfest at Pontins in Prestatyn, UK, which takes place from March 15th - 18th, 2012.

CEREBRAL BORE are among the latest groups to be confirmed for the festival, joining the likes of ANTHRAX, SKINDRED, EXODUS, AMON AMARTH, LAWNMOWER DETH and more. The band will be performing on Saturday, March 17th at 14:00 on the Second Stage.

VREID: CANCEL RUSSIAN (MOSCOW) DATE 12/3/2011

Norwegian black and rollers VREID have cancelled the bands scheduled 12/3/2011 Russian date.

FROM VREID:
Since our contract agreement was not fulfilled, the show in Moscow on December 3rd is cancelled. We are very sorry for this, but hope to return later. This means that this weekend will be the last 3 Vreid shows of 2011. It has been one hell of a year, so we have lots to celebrate. Come join us at our party this weekend......
