NARCOTIC WASTELAND: ANNOUNCE DEBUT RELEASE DATE, UNLEASH LYRIC VIDEO FOR "The Shackles of Sobriety"

NARCOTIC WASTELAND, a new metal project featuring NILE guitarist/vocalist DALLAS TOLER-WADE have unleashed a lyric video for "The Shackles of Sobriety", a track from the bands self titled debut due to be unleashed 1/15/2014.

1/13/14 Update - Announcement from Dallas Toler-Wade of Narcotic Wasteland:

Dallas Toler-Wade, guitarist/vocalist of the death metal band "Nile" is announcing the release date of his death metal band "Narcotic Wasteland."

Dallas states, "Our debut self-titled album will be released digitally this Wednesday January 15, 2014. The download can be found on our website www.narcoticwasteland.com but is also available on: i-Tunes, Amazon, Google Play, and Spotify. Physical copies of the cd will also be available the following week on our website and we will also be launching a music video for one of the tracks. Be sure to check back on our sites for more updates."

To coincide with the launch, the band has also released a lyric video on its youtube channel ) for the track "The Shackles of Sobriety" and can be seen at this location:

"The song topics vary a bit," Dallas continues, "but the whole of the album is about hard drug abuse. Anything from prescription drugs, hard street drugs, to alcohol abuse and how they are affecting us as a society.
I got the name for the band after completing the first song I wrote for the project, which is called "Widespread Narcotic Wasteland." The song talks about some of what I have observed and some of the things that have happened to me just living my life in a normal neighborhood while watching it crumble around me because of the ever growing criminal activity in the area. This gave me a lot of new ideas for more songs, so I just kept my head down and worked on this record whenever I had the time."

Dallas also states, “As far as the music, it was just happening naturally like it always does. No pressure to go at maximum beats per minute, although some of the songs are fast. I just wanted to write some heavy tunes about some of what I have experienced and observed. Overall it’s just a big snort of reality”.
