Denmark's toughest festival is ready for another eight heavy bands for this summer's hell in the capital of
British doom minute My Dying Bride and coal-black Watain from Sweden's darkest regions are among the new breed of metallic atrocities that Copenhell can present this summer headbanger-bang Refshaleøen. Watain troops course with extra gunpowder in his pockets, and will really make sure that hell will be hot for the bravest in the front row with a blistered pyroshow.
At the same time Copenhell further publish a deadly cocktail of everything from metalcore to technical death metal and high-octane grind.
This means that the audience Copenhell 2014, could moshe Finntroll, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their classic album Nattfödd, Mercenary, Of Mice & Men, Thy Art Is Murder, Gorguts and Blood Eagle. This throws Northern Europe most violent city festival yet another can of gasoline on the fire that will light up the night sky over the old værftsø to June - and there is much more to come.
17 bands are now published for Copenhell 2014 and at least as many will be revealed in the coming months.
However Copenhell is not only a cascade of quality metal. Specially designed hangouts, wild sideshows, live metal karaoke, smash country, fire, Europe's most hardcore beer garden parties and much, much more does every year Copenhell an inspiring whole experience of dedicated headbangers and rock fans from home and abroad. This year will be no exception. Tickets are on sale now and there is still opportunity to secure access to the limited camping with postedCopenhell tent .
Finntroll
With roots in the bloody tale of supernatural creatures, the Finnish beer fighters since the beginning in 1997, people-bang into a sizable fan base in Europe. Finntroll from the coldest north invading Copenhell with an alcohol stiff cocktail of adventure poetry, folk metal with black inspiration and a unquenchable thirst for blood and mead. All this makes them an obvious Refshaleøen, and you were one of those who moshede through in Korpiklaanis festive vodka mists on the square in 2012, you will not go in vain Finntroll. The band's latest release "Blodsvept" (2013) harvested earned great reviews all around, so plaster ølhornet, fill it up and party with goblin king's legions.
Mercenary
Great chorus, great sound and riffs as heavy as a steel mill. One of the most hard-working metal successes splits the concrete at the old yard and leave the underworld flames make it hell for the audience at Copenhell. Mercenary have with their blend of atmospheric keyboard interfaces, samples and alluring melodies created a unique expression that not only gave them a name in this country, but also kicked the door to the world stage. After major changes in the line-up is of Aalborg back as compact quartet in absolutely great shape, the band's latest album, "Through Our Darkest" Days (2013) also emphasizes unduly unpleasant manner.
My Dying Bride
"A controlled destruction of any hope you might have." To summarize guitarist Andrew Craighan My Dying Brides latest album "A Map of All Our Failures". More succinctly, one can not describe the English doom-kings painful universe where despair rusty clamps squeeze every last joy out of life.Lead singer Aaron Stainthorpes vowel has the sound of the 500 years of deadly sins in themselves, and the numbers drags on as an unjust and painful goodbye to this world. Riffsne is heavy and black, lyrics steeped in loss and passion and with Shaun Macgowans suffering violin reminiscent My Dying Brides concerts therefore most of all on a beautiful funeral. So just let the thunder clouds draw over Copenhell - it will still not darker than this.
Of Mice & Men
With a burst of energy as a solar flare is California's Of Mice & Men in the degree turned their name for itself as one of the most promising metalcore bands on the scene in recent years. The fiery quintet has just released her critically acclaimed third album, "Restoring Force", which among other drag distinct strands to the nu-metal genre, which defeated guitars fight for the right to decibelene against frantic screamo and crystal clear sentiment. In spite of Of Mice & While short lifetime (formed in 2009), the band has already gained a large fan base, and their previous album strokes directly in at number 28 on the U.S. charts - Billboard 200 Expect lots of sharp choruses, angry vocals and a solid moshpit when these modern bangere dries ass in the airs.
Thy Art Is Murder
Thy Art is Murder brutal deathcore-shedding is a study in brutality delivered with surgical precision and gravity. Nothing is left to chance in Australians massive expression, where each stop punishing instruments to the breaking point. Lead singer Chris "CJ" McMahon ultra deep growl belongs to the genre's most experienced, while drummer Lee Stanton in itself is a study in how big drums to be stress-tested. The compact fatal attacks have brought the band to both the U.S. and Europe several times and now is the turn of Copenhell, where the quartet leaves aggression run wild in the capital.Health has already been out with a recommendation that any participants in the violence in front of the stage in advance should make an appointment with their physiotherapist after the festival.
Gorguts
The Canadian death masters are known to be extremely experimental - even in technical death metal, as Gorguts is distinguished pioneer men inside. Formed in 1989, the band has had a turbulent life in which, among other things, two of the orchestra's members lost their lives in tragic circumstances that led to long breaks. Now Gorguts back with new crew and adversity certainly does not seem to have weakened the brutality or the urge to surprise the listener. With a powerful barrage of death metal that is anything but fabric mixer Gorguts tight grind, open chords, fiery solos, guttural roar and heavy riffs from Lucifer's own music book.
Watain
Black and death of the truly Satanic kind. Watain spreading right now through Europe as a well-chosen soundtrack to earth hopefully impending doom. Watain has more blood, more fire and more inverted cross on stage than most, and their uncompromising metal is created to evoke darkest army of fallen angels of Refshaleøen. Watain has the ideology firmly planted in hell inspired by Bathory and Mayhem, but is not limited to extreme metal in their solid expression. On top of the Swedes' obvious black metal excellence incorporates Watain also elements of heavy metal, death metal and hard rock. Go close to the stage if you've always wanted a scorched face.
Blood Eagle
It took no more than a single hot-headed EP before Copenhell booked Danish Blood Eagle to make Denmark's toughest festival even more extreme. With members from Volbeat, Mnemic, Hatesphere, Illdisposed and Raunchy Blood Eagle is a regular super group that will death-grind place in ruins with their fast and well played violence. The experienced forces experience is evident throughout the numbers that strikes as a series perk knotter the mask. So if you intend to embark on a moshpit to the thunder from those dark boys, we recommend that you have proper control of circuit training, before this freight train waits for no one.
