As INTERNATIONAL support for the WOMEN'S MARCH ON WASHINGTON (1/21/2017) out drew U.S. President DONALD TRUMP'S inaugural, today marks "A DAY WITHOUT A WOMAN", a follow up to protecting and expanding women's rights.
"You spent your self watching me suffer, suffer your words, suffer your eyes, suffer your hands.
Suffer your interpretation of what it is to be a man,"
So we play the roles that they assigned us, she does nothing to conceal it. He touches her 'cause he wants to feel it. We blame her for being there..
But we are all GUILTY". -FUGAZI-"Suggestion"
The stakes are high in 2017 including women reproductive rights, equal pay, confronting sexism, "rape culture", violence against women and sexual assault and more.
In support of "A DAY WITHOUT A WOMAN", ITP's author (female) will take off on a strike (for a day) to protest sexism in the music industry, at home and in our society.
ITP V.017 WILL be updated 3/9/2017 (forgive me, I'm busy with alot of commitments), all genders, races, sexual orientations, religions and musical preferences are free to join and peel back the layers of sexism and confront pre conceived notions of women's roles in society.
FROM "A DAY WITHOUT A WOMAN" ORGANIZERS:
Three Action Items for Women's Strike on March 8, 2017:
1. Women take the day off work.
2.Exclusively shop at "small, women- and minority owned businesses."
A: The goal is to highlight the economic power and significance that women have in the US and global economies, while calling attention to the economic injustices women and gender nonconforming people continue to face. We play an indispensable role in the daily functions of life in all of society, through paid & unpaid, seen & unseen labor.
We must have the power to control our bodies and be free from gender norms, expectations and stereotypes. We must free ourselves and our society from the constant awarding of power, agency and resources disproportionately to masculinity, to the exclusion of others.

FROM LAINA DAWES (AUTHOR OF BOOK "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE"):
Happy International Women's Day! While I have a feeling there are many of us who are not marching and cannot afford to take the day off of work, today is important ( hell, everyday is important) to remember how crucial women's contributions are within our social, political, personal and professional lives. I am stoked that pre-orders are now available for the below book, authored by my friend and WAYDH supporter Kristen Sollee (she's also the founder and EIC of the online, sex positive publication Slutist)! She is an amazing writer, an overall awesome person and I highly recommend you check this out!
