Opeth forum @Ultimatemetal.com. closed

Opeth's forum at UltimateMetal.com. is (perhaps temporarily) CLOSED to EVERYONE due to leaks (downloads of Opeth's new CD Ghost Revelries) and the ensueing hype and mayhem, lmao.

Between Opeth and Roadrunner, sounds like all in the Opeth camp are getting paranoid of all the "rumors". lol. We'll see if the new Opeth CD on Roadrunner is worth all this hype (Ghost Revelries)..

:rolls eyes;..I liked the forum (Opeth) better in 2002/2003 before these KiDZ starting getting into Opeth, lol. Then again, Arch Enemy, In Flames also closed thier forums (permanatly) on UltimateMetal.com within the last two years due to cries of sell out..

The bad news for Opeth fans from UltimateMetal.com. staff METALAGES:

I've been informed by Opeth that this forum is now closed due to the leaks, etc. It may reopen once the album is released. Plese do not message asking how, why etc. Thanks.

In more bad news, WVKR metal DJ (Masochist Radio-Vassar College radio) Hamilton and Gengis Tron member had an unfortunate accident and crashed the bands van in route to a gig on Gengis Tron's 7 week national tour. While all in Gengis Tron are ok, the ENTIRE tour is cancelled and thier gear/van are ruined..

Hamilton (Gengis Tron) IS/WAS one of the better DJ's on WVKR (Masochist Radio) and a motivating factor in getting up but crack early in the morning (7 or 10AM) to listen to one the best extreme metal shows (and perhaps only) on the airwaves in 2002/2003...

Hamilton (Gengis Tron) has also, (up to his study abroad trip to the Chek Repulblic) been an active member on the RELAPSE.COM. and ULTIMATEMETAL.COM. forum's..Hamilton/Gengis Tron are a part of our local music scene and metal forums community.

Hamilton's a very cool guy, and thankfully Gengis Tron's gear is INSURED, but they are STILL thousands of dollars in the red on gear, so please buy some merch from this band so they can buy new gear and a new van..So if you are a band on tour, INSURE YOUR GEAR.

Jokes about mistaking Gengis Tron's van accident with yet another van accident, ala Soilent Green/Goatwhore/Candiria aside, it was truly a little bunny rabbit that side swiped Gengis Tron's van causing the accident. I shit you not...These van/tour bus accidents could have tragic counsequences ala Cliff Burton of Metallica '86, not just missed shows, physical and monatary damages..

So help out Gengis Tron and Hamilton whom just happens to be a local Vassar college student and former WVKR DJ originally from Atlanta, Georgia.

Being in an indie band, driving a VAN across the USA on tour with no showers, hotels,no roadies/crew, the band itself driving a van 8 to 12 hours to a show,taking off time from work to tour because you're an indie band and your genre of music is not commercially profitable. Also, not much food from unreliable promoters is NOT a glamerous life.. This is (sometimes the unfortuanate) standard for indie bands on tour, and that is how the underground music scene works these days.

Also,. when indie bands (signed to small and major indies whom are not huge sellers, and not on major tours) go on tour and play in your area, please help them out by PAYING them guarentees (on a rider agreement), and feeding them properly (you know who you are ya shiesty promoters) and fans please let these bands shower and perhaps stay a night at your place if at all possible.. Take these bands in over night for a shower, shave and some adequate SLEEP if these bands are touring by way of a VAN and (not a tour bus) and have no $, the band themselves are driving with no seperate driver, or are not supplied with hotels. This IS the indie underground folks.

Only INTERNATIONAL/ (INDIE ect) acts are supllied with a tour bus and driver. Tour bus rentals (from booking agencies) may cost between $10, 000 and $20, 000 dollars. Of course one could always rent a van, or van with bunks from a booking agency, or invest in thier own van/tralier.

Oh yeh, I don't care that she is not metal, cheers to ANI DIFRANCO whom is playing somewhere in NY this weekend at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival..It was a pleasure playing Ani Difranco's music on WFNP back in the day..
