FROM The Pintado Family
It is with great regret to announce the passing of our son, brother, and uncle Jesse. We are deeply saddened by the recent tragedy and would like to thank those of you around the world for your kind thoughts and words. Jesse passed away at Holland's Erasmus MC hospital on Sunday, August 27, 2006 due to liver failure. He was a son, a brother, an uncle and a great friend to us all. He was a free spirit and was loved, adored and admired by many around the world; he loved them. He was a man of integrity and only spoke good words of his friends. Through him, our lives were enriched with different cultures from around the world. Through his music, he touched our hearts and our minds. His physical being has left us but his spirit will live forever in and through us.
"Thank you to Mitch, Shane, Danny, and Barney of NAPALM DEATH; to Anthony, Pete, and the TERRORIZER family; to the RESISTANT CULTURE collective, and his close friend Carlos Reveles. Especially many thanks to all the fans worldwide you truly inspired him. He loved you and was always a brother."
FROM TERRORIZER: "Words can't describe the loss we feel for our close brother. We feel deeply honored to have shared the last creative moments with him and are greatly appreciative that the hands of fate allowed him to leave us with a final masterpiece. We promise to sustain his memory loudly in the world of the living.
"You'll always live on in our hearts, Jesse!
"Thank you to all the fans for sharing your thoughts and offering support. Below are the words of those who were there with him until the end, his family."
Jesse Pintado's family: "
FROM Century Media: "We are deeply saddened to have lost such a talented musician from our family of bands. Without a doubt Jesse was someone who had so much more to give to the world, not only musically but in his easy-going demeanor and likeable character. Your legacy will continue to live on, but your absence personally is something which is simply irreplaceable. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, as well as to his bandmates."
Also, for all of you fans of tri state area hardcore, HATEBREED'S former guitarist, Lou "Boulder" Richards passed away Now I have to admit, I'm not the biggest Hatebreed fan or all that into the genre of hardcore, but you couldn't miss the tandem of HATEBREED and ALL OUT WAR shows at the Chance in the 90's... Fucking brutal.... Yes, I was kinda shocked when Hatebreed were booked for OZZFEST, but it was like wow, these guys made it..Lou Richards left HATEBREED in 2002 and perhaps suffered from substance abuse issues..The irony of the current tour of HATEBREED, Napalm Death, Exodus ect. as that both Napalm Death and Hatebreed are grieving the deaths of former members and EXODUS lost longtime vocalist Pual Baloff as he died in 2002 of a stroke.
Although unconfirmed Lou Richards death might be of his own will, at his own hands..RIP Lou "Boulder"....
FROM HATEBREED:
"As many of you may have heard, and we were sorry to learn, our former guitar player Lou 'Boulder' Richards passed away yesterday," reads the statement. "It is very unfortunate that he could not see any other way to conquer his demons. We hope he has finally found some peace. Our hearts go out to Vera" - Richards' grandmother - "and his family and friends."
GLEN BENTON COMMENTS ON Jon Nödveidt's (DISSECTION) SUICIDE:
FROM EARACHE RECORDS DEICIDE FAN Q AND ANSWER:
Glen: "We all made asinine remarks as children mine was no different, I don't find any honor in suicide and only cowards and losers choose that option instead of living with one's responsibility or the actions that landed that person in jail to begin with. Do I feel sorry for him? NO. The person he murdered was someone's child and being a responsible father of two, I would have been waiting for him to get out of jail as to finish him off before he had the option of taking his own life."
R.I.P: ED BRANDES, DENNIS O'KEEFE
Last but not least, with little or no fanfare, New Paltz, NY being such a transient town, our dear community member ED BRANDES, "Mr. Bo Jangles" (you couldn't miss him back in the 90's, with a cowboy hat and rad bike doing what you college students should be doing, picking up your beer cans and recycling for spange) died last month, probably in a nursing home. Ed Brandes sold off his property to Mohonk preserve in Gardiner, NY, and retired from his eclectic lifestyle... Ed Brandes couldn't be missed in New Paltz, NY back in the 90's, sweeping up in front of the Bistro for a nice meal, and his hilarious upbeat humor made my dismal days much better. I even learned to reduce foul language from ED BRANDES in an almost dyslexic way, turning the word mother fucker to futhermucker.
Honestly, community members should find Ed Brandes's bike, and hang it up somewhere as symbol of remembrance of ED and his creative mind, good natured humor, and resourceful ideals.
Ed Brandes is sorely missed in the New Paltz, NY community and may that hilarious futher mucker rest in peace... RIP Ed Brandes, we'll never forget you.
Also, Jack of all trades and master of everything, the late New Paltz, NY community maestro and former WFNP 88.7 FM weather reporter Dennis O' Keefe's death was confirmed by autopsy as a "Blood clot to the brain" said the New Paltz college newspaper The Oracle.. A blood clot to the brain is also known as a aneurysm.. According to the New Paltz Oracle there is plaque in memorial of Dennis O' Keefe at SUNY New Paltz, NY's Sojourner Truth Library where he last worked...
This world is an empty place without these great musicians, personalities, and community members whom have departed this Earth to soon.
Another thing, is you all have to stop dying on us, I might have to remember how to write a professional AP obituary...Grr.
