VANHELGA: SET TO UNLEASH "LPT"

Swedish depressive black metal warriors VANHELGA have unleashed  "DESCENDING INTO DARKNESS" and "Dag 3", two tracks from the bands anticipated  new mini release "LPT",  due to be unleashed (6/25/2014) and 6/30/2014 via ART OF PROPAGANDA.

This creation is the result of a long period of time beeing hospitalized under the Swedish law called "LPT". I had no freedom at all and the only thing present was total misery and silence. All lyrics, music and artwork was created during this time of isolation because I was lucky and had access to a laptop.
The conclusion of this is; if you want to get a feeling of the anxiety, misery, depression and pain that beeing locked inside of a psychiatric ward provides -- listen to this piece of art.

The sound in the beginnning was recorded at the asylum by different patients (without their knowing). The main melody was inspired by it.The track has a bit more depressed feel to it than our earlier works but it has it's explanations..
145188's near death experience converted into a piece of art.

Statement from 145188: "This was created during a second hospitalization that nearly caused my death. My camera was shit and I had only access to a piano. But all you hear and see was composed and written during this time. The piano was recorded with a mobilephone on the piano in the room where the priests gives their last blessings."

Here's today's news from Vanhelga and not one, but two tracks you might not have heard before.
With a lineup that can lay claim to a considerable pedigree in the form of founder J. Ottosson, aka 145188 (ex-LIFELOVER (live session musician), ex-SKOGSTRON) on Bass, Guitars and Vocals, J. Gabrielson (ESKAPI, ex-LIVELOVER) on Vocals, J. Ejnarsson (TAKETH),  Wadström (ex-SKOGSTRON) on guitars and D. Franzén on drums, Swedish Depressive Black Metallers VANHELGA are going through a particularly prolific phase at the moment, with the mini digi album “LPT” coming up hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed third full-length album “Längtan” .
As 145188 explains, this was not an album that was planned, but rather one that resulted from a particularly black period he recently went through. ” This creation is the result of me being hospitalized for a long period of time under a Swedish law called “LPT” – hence the name of the album itself.  I had no freedom at all and the only thing present day in and day out was abject misery and silence.  I was, however, lucky enough to have been given access to a laptop and I was therefore able to create all the lyrics, music and artwork for “LPT” during this period of isolation.  All I can say is this; if you want to get a feeling of the anxiety, misery, depression and pain that comes from being locked inside a psychiatric ward,  then listen to this piece of art.”
