DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2021 11/6/2021 @ LEEDS UNIVERSITY UNION, LEEDS ENGLAND: POST UPDATE

Promoters for DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2021, set to take place 11/6/2021 @ LEEDS UNIVERSITY UNION, LEEDS ENGLAND have posted the below update.

DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2021 have confirmed PIG DESTROYER, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, PALLBEARER, ONSLAUGHT, ESOTERIC and MORE METAL BANDS.

FROM DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2021 PROMOTERS:

Afternoon all, here's a State of the Union on all things Damnation.
Plan is to announce some more death, doom and black metal goodness next Monday night, bolstering this bill that we feel like we've been desperate to see for a lifetime now.
The headliner situation is a little up in the air as the band in question (understandably) want to see how their summer plans pan out before committing to the winter schedule.
We're not keen on holding out until August to complete the line-up, so we're working on a Plan B we're pretty chuffed about, which would see a replacement join Pig Destroyer and Wolves In The Throne Room at the top of the Main Stage.
We've also started looking at the possibility of effectively adding a second night on the Friday, which may end up being a two-stage event with its own stacked line-up.
This will be a separately ticketed event and will not change the format/running of Damnation in any way, so if you've only got one day in you, we've still got you covered.
Ticket sales are sitting at just above the halfway mark, with not a lot of movement over the festive season, as is expected.
We'd assume once bands start being added to the bill, the rest will sell too, especially if spring events start to fall and live music-starved fans look at Damnation as a beacon of hope (again).
We don't have any scope (or desire) to expand the capacity of Damnation, so don't be messaging us after they sell out saying you've been coming since Jilly's Rockworld and you'd love to get in, because we can't live with that sort of guilt.
Merch. All orders should have arrived with you all by now, hope they made great Xmas gifts and winter warmers.
There's about half a box of stuff left, with a few options left for tees, hoods, the thrash and grind shirts at damnationfestival.co.uk/merch
We'll be donating £1 of every order that has been made since November to Leeds-based music charity Cloth Cat.
This is the first they'll be hearing about that, so we'll be in touch directly.
A lot of fans wanted us to help out the guys in Boom too, but instead of throwing a couple of hundred quid their way, we felt Damnation tickets to raffle could generate more income for them.
Again we'll be in touch and thanks to everyone who made an order, it helped us cover some of the unavoidable costs of 2020.
Finally, the podcast - Damnation Versus.
There was a muted response to the last episode so if listeners feel it has run its course, we'll wrap up season two in a few episodes and say the job's a good one.
If you're a fan and want to see it continue, get involved; like, subscribe, share, rate... make Spotify, Apple, YouTube care.
Either way, the next episode (coming Wednesday) features booking agent for Sleep, Exodus, High on Fire, Every Time I Die (and Nails for Damnation back in 2016) - Tom Taaffe - and it's one of the best yet with his candid insights into the imminent decisions facing the major festivals this summer, why we don't see certain bands at certain events why bumping promoters out of hefty fees doesn't always make good business sense for artists.
Cheers,
Gav & Paul (and Bri).
