FROM IRON MAIDEN:

We are all very much saddened and shocked to hear about the passing of our friend Malcolm Dome. He was fearless, intrepid, passionate and forthright as a journalist and latterly a broadcaster and we respected him immensely. We send our sympathies to his family, his friends and his colleagues at this sad time. He will be missed.
Iron Maiden & Phantom Management.

FROM ORANGE GOBLIN:

We are all devastated to hear the news that our good friend and legendary Heavy Metal music journalist, Malcolm Dome, has died.
The word 'legend' gets banded around far too often these days but Malcolm genuinely was a LEGEND. From the very early days of Orange Goblin, Malcolm was there, championing the band and getting us press where he could help. He would always be at the shows, supporting the underground heavy metal and doom scene long before it became 'cool'. Malcolm's passion and knowledge of music shone through in all of his work and we will never see his like again. Right through to the very end Malcolm was one of our biggest fans, giving us advice, promoting our music and always buying and wearing our merchandise. We are truly honoured to have a man of such esteem wearing an Orange Goblin shirt.
We will miss seeing him at venues and festivals but most of all we will miss those nights at the Crobar with Malcolm, Jerry Ewing and the whole gang, discussing music, laughing, doing shots and just generally having the time of our lives. Because that's what Malcolm Dome was all about..........having fun and making sure the people around him were too. He would always be the first to buy a round, a kind, generous, intelligent and humble soul that everyone loved and had time for.
Heavy Metal has lost one of it's very best! Raise a glass to him.
Malcolm Dome..........Orange Goblin salute you sir!
REST. IN. POWER.
Ben, Chris, Joe, Harry (Martyn & Pete)

FROM OPETH:
”I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of Malcolm Dome. A legendary rock journalist that we’ve crossed paths with many times throughout our career. A great guy, and a rock oracle in many ways. Always had a good time chatting away about nerdy rock-facts with Malcolm. He will be sorely missed. Our most sincere condolences goes out to his family, friends and loved ones.” - Mikael Ã…kerfeldt, Stockholm, 02/11/2021

FROM METAL ALLEGIANCE:
RIP to the great Malcolm Dome. He helped spread the word on us when MA first started and had this to say about our debut album (amongst many other kind words) "...one of the year’s best metal albums” in his Classic Rock Magazine reivew back in 2015. Malcolm was a true pioneer in the world of music journalism. After all, Malcolm did coin the term "thrash metal" thanks for the words and wisdom. Rest in Peace.

FROM LARS ULRICH (METALLICA): FROM OZZY OSBOURNE:

FROM TONY IOMMI (BLACK SABBATH):

FROM BANGER FILMS:
The trailblazing metal journalist Malcolm Dome has passed away at the age of 66.
Malcolm appeared in our first documentary, "Metal: A Headbangers Journey," and is also credited with coining the term "thrash metal" while referencing Anthrax's "Metal Thrashing Mad" in Kerrang! Magazine in 1984.
RIP

FROM MILLE PETROZZA (KREATOR):

Shocked to hear about Malcolm Dome’s passing today.
Malcolm wrote all liner notes for the recent @kreatorofficial reissues, including “ Enemy of God” and “ Hordes of Chaos”, still on the horizon.
We talked on Skype for hours and Malcolm knew more about my band’s past, than I could remember myself. He was a true music lover and one of the funniest people out there. Working with Malcolm never felt like actual work.
“ And all the light we could not see, was here for all eternity. We are the spark that feeds the flame, no one can take that away.”
Rest In Peace, fallen brother. You will be missed by many.

FROM PARADISE LOST:

Absolutely heartbroken to hear the passing of Malcolm Dome. Always a joy to see and laugh with and the man that defined my choice album purchases as a teen.
Malcolm in his journalistic capacity, created my favorite description of PL of all time as "Gondoliers of Gloom" he will be very sorely missed and I feel blessed to have called him a friend. Aaron

FROM HAWKWIND: :

Remembering our dear friend Malcolm Dome.
It’s taken us a little while to think what to say….
How can we even express what Malcolm meant to us, both as a band and to us personally, or of our great sadness at his passing.
Malcolm has always been one of Hawkwind’s greatest allies and defenders, a loyal friend and supporter through the good times and sometimes the not so good.
From his very first interview with Dave back in the 1970s, through to us sitting in on his live sessions at Total Rock Radio in Soho, to his latest contributions as renowned Hawkwind expert and sleeve note writer extraordinaire….
Farewell dear friend, we will miss your friendly face whenever we met up, (especially at all the stuffy London functions), we will miss your chats on the phone, both before and after interviews.
You were truly one of the good guys. You didn’t only champion Hawkwind, but all of the many bands that you listened to and appreciated, both new and old, without any shred of bias…A lot of musicians owe a great deal to you.
Until we meet again at the great gig in the sky, fly high our friend..
Love from all at Hawkwind x
