BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT: SIGN RECORD DEAL WITH NAPALM RECORDS

 

BODOM AFTER MINDNIGHT.(featuring ALEXI LAIHO , former vocalist-guitarist of Finland based extreme metal warriors CHILDREN OF BODOM)  have inked a record deal with NAPALM RECORDS.



AA and SEWIRA CONSULTING OY are RAATIKAINEN (former drummer), SEPPALA (former bassist)  and WIRMAN (former keyboardist), the three members of CHILDREN OF BODOM whom left the bands last month.



SEWIRA CONSULTING OY will not allow ALEXI LAIHO (vocalist-guitarist)
 to use the bands name after RAATIKAINEN, SEPPALA and WIRMAN'S departure from CHILDREN OF BODOM.

The title track is also one of the last songs that we wrote for 'Über den Sternen' and its title has been with us for many moons before the music to this song was actually written", reveals mastermind Markus Stock. "Music and lyrics are an ode to the nocturnal sky and the eternal mysteries it unfolds with every nightfall. Based around a quote from German poet Friedrich Schiller, 'Über den Sternen', which translates as 'Above the Stars' surely is a perfect title for an Empyrium album considering that our band name meant the farthest, fiery sphere of heaven in medieval cosmology. Musically it truly is a journey through many sonic landscapes that paint very detailed pictures before your mind’s eye – the awe-inspiring twinkle of the stars we marvel at with childlike amazement, but also the the vast and cold, black nothingness of the universe that makes us crouch in fear of the unknown. With this song, we are indulging in such juxtapositions. 'Über den Sternen' is as Empyrium as it gets to me and it amalgamates elements from every phase of the band with fresh colours and hues to a new epic grandeur. Now delve into the nightly sphere!"

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets February 5th, 2021 as the international release date for a new mini-album from White Nights, Solanaceae, on CD, 10" vinyl, and cassette tape formats.

It was but April 2020 when White Nights revealed their bolt-from-the-blue debut EP, Into the Lap of the Ancient Mother, for Iron Bonehead. Adorned with eye-gougingly colorful cover artwork, White Nights' four-song public debut indeed conveyed a very strange and very malformed world: warped, literally sun-damaged dirges of abstract black metal deviated further by undertones of shimmering deathrock, the whole headfuck lysergic as it was languorous.

Wasting no time in wasting the listener's last threads of sanity, White Nights deliver a new warped recording from the psychedelic void: the four-song/27-minute mini-album Solanaceae. From the opening track/title of "Hallucinogenic Black Cubes" onward, this mysterious entity makes it (malformed) mission clear - that you're gonna get headfucked by a darker 'n' more drugged (d)evolution of sound. The muse may be more immediately deathrock in composition, but the execution of such defies conventional definitions of such; here, White Nights make sadistic dance music for malcontents and deviants, and drugs are optional if not encouraged. And while the soundfield may be raw 'n' distant, wrapping around these more melodic ruminations and evoking hauntological sensations, there's actually a great deal of Technicolor tweaking going on above and below Solanaceae: a record ripe for headphone exploration. Which it so say nothing of the closing 13-minute title track....hearing is believing.

Life is grim. Find salvation within the magick mushroom cloud of White Nights' Solanaceae.
