ITP: WORLD APOCALYPSE: and ..EXIT George Bush Jr.

While I'm not interested in other peoples opinions on politics, some people seem to be celebrating the exit of USA's president George Bush Jr
(USA regime change 8 years of George Bush Jr. to Barack Obama) as if the world will change for the better. We at ITP, while NEVER supporting the Bush Jr. or Bush Sr. regimes, are cynical enough to think that nothing much will change, but ya gotta start somewhere. Or we can sit here and be morbid metal heads and write about the world apocalypse, lol. The average American is feeling the pinch of an awful economy, and the war on Iraq benefited no one but a corporate monopoly of oil companies, and George Bush Jr. keeps his foot entrenched in the oil business.
So there fore, exit George Bush Jr. to his ranch in TEXAS, and maybe we can peak our heads out of the foxholes as BARACK OBAMA is officially the USA's president, moving into the white house.
Everyone's got their proverbial head up their asses and people couldn't be more tasteless and immature about the regime change, but ya know, it's a marketing thing for metalheads to, catch that RELAPSE "This Comp Kills Fascists" compilation, with great bands btw.
AS THE PALACES BURN: However, out of curiosity, I wanted to know how much the Presidents Inaugural cost in all: Oh about 150 million, smack in the middle of a receding WORLD economy. World economical woes have caused stock market crashes, banks, riots and violence as the USA'S economy is on the verge of a collapse. $150 million, that's enough to run the government of a small market American city, or maybe a third world country? The president sure knows how to throw a party, but ya know, think of the people who have NOTHING. FROM www.guardian.co.uk:
President Barack Obama's inauguration next week is set to be the most expensive ever, predicted to reach over $150m (£102m). This dwarfs the $42.3m spent on George Bush's inauguration in 2005 and the $33m spent on Bill Clinton's in 1993.

Part of the spending includes emergency funding announced by the White House on Tuesday to help with the soaring costs. Most of this new federal funding will be to deal with the huge influx of people, estimated 1.5 million to 2 million.

A White House statement said that President Bush "declared an emergency exists in the District of Columbia".

If there is snow, the costs will grow higher. The long-term forecast suggests there is a chance of snow on Sunday and again on the day of inauguration, on Tuesday.

Carole Florman, spokeswoman for the joint congressional committee on inaugural ceremonies, told the New York Daily News, which estimated the cost at $160m: "We're always very budget conscious. But we're sending a message to the entire world about our peaceful transition of power, and you don't want it to look like a schlock affair. It needs to be appropriate to the magnitude of events that it is."

Florman deals specifically with the inauguration ceremony at the Congress, which is relatively modest. The surge in spending is partly because of the Obama's decision to open the entire Mall to the public.

The federal government has budgeted $49m for the inauguration. But this does not take account of other demands, such as from Virginia and Maryland, the states surrounding the capital, that have also asked for emergency funding.

In addition, funding will come from Obama's own fund-raising efforts and from private contributors.

One of the biggest costs is transport, and the Washington DC transport authority has also put in a request to the federal government for extra funding.

Obama today issued a statement calling on people across the nation to participate by holding their own neighborhood events, including their own balls. He acknowledged the logistical problems that will face Washington.

"Now, you've probably heard the reports that unprecedented numbers of Americans are planning to join us in Washington. That will mean long lines, a tough time getting around, and most of all, a lot of walking on what could be a very cold winter day," Obama said.

The presidential inaugural committee today published details of the inauguration and the days running up to it.

On Sunday, there will be a free concert opened by Obama at the Lincoln Memorial, with songs from Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé and others and historical readings by actors including Jamie Foxx and Denzel Washington.

On Monday night, there will be a children's inaugural event in Washington.

On Tuesday, there will be the inauguration, parade led by the Obamas from Congress to the White House and a series of balls in the evening.

The inauguration events will end on Wednesday with a prayer service at the Washington National Cathedral.
On rare occasion, local legislators will send out a survey to their constituents asking them about legislation. One unnamed politician sent out a survey about universal health care, as I voted yes. Look out for that via snail mail.
We at ITP are in 100% support of Ulster County Legislator (Gardiner, NY) Glen Noonan's stance against sex offenders and the human waste they are to our communities, they for sure along with a few parasitic, felon squatters are not going to be anywhere near us or on any "waiting list".

Human garbage?

I am embarrassed to say I'm a legislator from Ulster County this morning. Last night the Ulster County Legislature Democrats in a straight party-line voted to refer a sex-offender resolution back to committee. The same committee, it was said, it was sent back to in September.

They didn't tell you it was September 2006

The chair of that committee hopes to be reappointed in the next few days. Why?

The problems of dumping sex offenders in Ulster County could have been avoided, or we could have started the process. We will have to wait now for months and give all other counties the opportunity to dump more of their garbage in our yard.

It's bad enough our state Assembly won't help by moving, but now our Democratic legislator fell right in step.

Remember, they say the state is dysfunctional. Move to Ulster County, we seem to have a patent on it. I hope all the voters of Ulster County look at the votes on this and remember all the legislators are up this year for election, and the sex offenders will not be living next to them but could be next to you.

ALSO, people have been acting "out" celebrating the furors predictable exit, the NEW PALTZ GREENS tastelessly had some cardboard cut out of GB Jr. so people can throw their shoes at the cardboard cut out of him in honer of IRAQI journalist Muntadar al-Zeidi. Both the Iraqi journalist and the New Paltz Greens are tasteless as journalists should never throw anything at their subjects as Muntadar should be at the very least fired. While we at ITP agree with nothing George Bush Jr. says or does, I would be just as afraid to have the two aforementioned douches in political leadership.
