METAL AT THE MOVIES: V.010: PART 3: :Metal IL מטאל כחול לבן - הטריילר הרשמי

An Israeli metal documentary entitled Metal IL מטאל כחול לבן - הטריילר הרשמי is set to have an screening February 23rd at the Tel Aviv Cinemateque at 17:30 pm. Entrance is free.

According to Metalisrael.com, Metal Kachol Lavan (Blue & White) – known in English as Metal IL – is a grassroots documentary exposing the thriving Israeli metal scene. The premiere will be on the February 23rd at the Tel Aviv Cinemateque at 17:30 pm. Entrance is free, but if you want to guarantee a seat, contact the Facebook event page here.

Director Mike Kaykov, 18, lives in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He tells Metalisrael.com: “It took me something like 2 years to finish it. I studied film making for about a year before as an after-school activity in a program called Zoom In. They co-operate with the municipality of Tel Aviv to encourage and educate young people to create and develop themselves – and they gave me the right equipment.”

Mike traveled the whole country, from Tel Aviv to Herzeliya, and even Kfar-Saba, filming over 22 bands and more than 30 live shows on his own. Bands interviewed include: ORPHANED LAND, THE FADING, WHORECORE, VISCERA TRAIL, MATRICIDE, SYSTEM DIVIDE and Sweden’s DRACONIAN.

The film includes footage from live shows of the following acts as well: SALEM, NEGATIVE PROJECTION, ARAFEL, FERIUM, ETERNAL GREY, PREY FOR NOTHING, FIDELITY, DARK SERPENT, DISTORTED, IMMATERIAL, ABORTED, SABATON, GODWRATH and CAPILLARIES.

Mike asserts that making this documentary was “not as easy as it sounds. This is the first and only documentary that has ever been created in the Holy Land specifically for Israeli metal. I’m very glad with this film. It took me like forever, but I’m very glad for it."
