German Pagan black metal warriors HEL, via BANDCAMP, are streaming the bands anticipated new re-issue of "FALLAND VORANDI", re-unleashed 4/12/2019 via EINHEIT PRODUKTIONEN.
HEL, whom are disbanded, originally unleashed "FALLAND VORANDI", 12/2/2005 via DET GERMANSKE FOLKET.
FROM HEL:
And another anniversary we just about missed: On July 12th 2004, that is 15 years ago now, our mini-LP "Pagan Midgard Art" was released.
Unfortunately, I don't quite remember how everything came about back then and why it ended up becoming a 10". There were supposed to be less songs on it and most of them had already been finished in 2001. Somehow, more and more songs were added. The final play time would've fit better onto a 12" and maybe avoided the cutting errors. As it is, the vinyl cutter made a mistake and created a volume anomaly. The layout really is the only nice thing about this release.
Musically, I think this release is the worst we ever published but for some reason it was a necessary evil so Falland Vörandi could become as great as it is. The new songs "Hamingia" and "Nordstern" were rather slow and dull and the Manowar cover song, which overwhelmed my vocal abilities at that time, was recorded during the Orloeg sessions already.
One song I do still enjoy listening to, however, is "Åses Tod". It was composed by Edvard Grieg and I think our metal rendition does it justice. And to stay on the bright side: The version of PMA we released digitally in 2013 sounds much better than the vinyl.
It's crazy how time flew since then...
