Promoters for CERNUNNOS ROCK FEST 2022, set to take place 7/30th and 31, 2022 @ CENTRO SPORTIVO, SELLERO, ITALY have announced many band cancellations including DARK FUNERAL and ESOTERIC, .GHOSTHEART NEBULA, TETHRA,TETHRA, SETH, SATURNUS. .
CERNUNNOS FROM ROCK FEST 2022 PROMOTERS:
Due to the precarious flight situation, the situation is going to get worse in the last weekend of July with several strikes by the ground and flight staff of different airlines, especially in the Scandinavian area, Spain to and England, to avoid finding ourselves that day with bands stopped in airports (see Katatonia from a few days ago) and the stage is regrettably empty, we decided to cancel all the bands that would have to board the flights to reach us, which unfortunately are the whole Saturday 3 schedule 0/07.
Sunday 31 July with headliners Alcest and The Ocean remains confirmed, we are waiting for confirmation from RLHT and other bands to be able to give you the final picture as soon as possible.
All pre-sale tickets, both for single days and subscriptions, will be refunded directly automatically by Liveticket starting August 10th in the times and methods stipulated by the current policy.
In the light of the Covid positivity of a member of the Dark Funeral whose negativeization times are obviously still unknown, and to whom all our best wishes for a speedy recovery, and to the now well known problematic flights to and from alc one European countries, we have redefined the Sunday July 24th program.
Headliner of the day Decapitated presenting their new album Cancer Culture. Co-headliner of the evening the masters of death metal from New York, the Suffocation. Holding the Italian flag high we will have the historic Necrodeath, while before them will perform the Xenos, Angelcrypt, Injury and the Iron Fil.
The whole day will be free admission, all pre-sale tickets, both for single days and subscriptions, will be refunded automatically by Liveticket starting August 10th in terms and conditions beware of the current policy

Sadly, it appears that we will not be appearing at the Cernunnos Rock festival in Italy on 30th July. We were unaware of the problems with the organisation until fairly recently, where the excuses and lack of action regarding booking travel and so on for the festival became too odd to be true. It seems from the post below that we are sharing, the organisers have previous form for similar behaviour. We are very sorry for anyone who bought tickets and hope you will be able to secure refunds. Sorry for the fans, and I hope we can return to Italy soon, with one of the many good and honest promoters we have found there over the years. We will be back.

We want to inform you that we will not be part of Cernunnos Rock Fest and it's our decision.
We were looking forward to play with so many great bands and we were so ready to bring the best of us on stage, but this is simply not going to happen.

In light of the recent developments regarding the Cernunnos Rock Fest we have decided to cancel our exhibition that saw us as the opener of the day on Saturday 30th July.
We have deliberately kept away from the controversies and the media circus that resulted from it, bringing out the worst on both sides and in all of this we believe we have lost sight of the most important thing: an event we have been waiting for since ann i, as musicians, as enthusiasts like that, it won't happen.
We don’t want to dwell too much on the reasons that they decreed a substantial change to the festival bill because there will be time and way to clear everything up later and we prefer to use our energy for something more productive.
The bitterness remains to have once again missed the opportunity to be able to see you all again and spend a day of great music, after these two years it's the thing we miss the most.

Unfortunatly, we have no other choice but to cancel our show at Cernunnos Rock Fest.
We are truly sorry for our Italian fans and we hope to come back soon in your beautiful country.
FROM SATURNUS:
It is with great sadness we are announcing that Saturnus will not be performing at the Cernunnos Rock Fest like many other acts, however due to unreliable communication and actions from those involved in the promotion of this event our day to perform has now been cancelled.
We apologise to all the fans and supporters who were attending to see us alongside all the other amazing acts but this decision was taken due to reasons beyond our control.
Saturnus sincerely hope to return to Italy as soon as possible and bring the doom! Until then keep your eyes and ears peeled for updates regarding new music in the future.

Dear musician, manager, booking agent friends playing and booking shows over European summer festivals.
This year (and this happened another 2 times before) there’s a festival announced in northern Italy which is about to - sadly - disgrace Italy and the hard work of many professional and reliable promoters working here, once again.
And I am pretty sick and tired of this happening.
Let me explain.
The first time (Colony Summer Fest 2018) they announced Venom, ABBATH -Official-, SÓLSTAFIR, Primordial, Dark Funeral, just to mention few, and many people bought a 2 days ticket.
The festival was fully cancelled 2-3 days before, the promoter didn’t buy any flight tickets nor sent the agreed advanced payment to most of the bands involved. Apparently, they didn’t even had any realistic location booked, they kept changing it, and they were lacking of all the bureaucracy to make a festival happen.
While bands were canceling, many days before, the promoter was still selling tickets.
Tickets they made virtually impossible to get a refund for.
Basically, a scam.
Luckily and thanks to the professionality of Saverio Mollica, who saved the day, we could experience, at least, one of the most intense Primordial show I’ve ever seen, and we had a good laugh with Alan Averill about these scammers.
In 2021 a “new” festival, with a new name (Camunia Sonora), in the same area, and clearly the same people involved, was announced.
Again, the bill was big: Coroner, Sodom Destruction Arcturus Månegarm Saor Pestilence (official) - the list here would be very long - but it also kept changing, very drastically (“only thrash” to “mixed but mostly gothic doom/black metal” bill).
Every other italian festival promoter was either waiting another year or doing their best to actually make their festival happen, despite the challenges given by this goddamn pandemic (e.g. Frantic Fest, my favourite, in the person of Davide Straccione, opted for a beautiful but smaller and all-italian-bands edition, to make sure fans wouldn’t be disappointed by too many last minute cancellation, postponing the full edition to this year).
Meanwhile, at Camunia Sonora, most bands had no advance, no flights booked, tickets were being sold to the audience with the clear promise of an easy and fast refund in case of cancellation, but we all knew this was the same scheme of Colony Summer Fest.
Few days before the festival, they finally admit the festival wasn’t going happen (supposedly for the covid situation, but no other italian event in those days had that kind of problem) and, guess what?
Tickets aren’t refundable, because the festival is tecnically POSTPONED and not cancelled (and the constant lineup changement made hard to define what that means).
And here we are in 2022, when Cernunnos Fest rises: FOUR DAYS with Candlemass, Marduk, Alcest, Saturnus, In the Woods.... and many many more on the original bill (take a look below!). It should be next week but every other day either a band announces they won’t play, agencies calls them out for this scam, the promoters make awkward statements (and then delete all of them), they publicly attack reliable webzines for “not advertising enough”(which, btw, is not even true) or other professionals such as Luca Pessina, Lorenzo and Alessandro Corno for not supporting this madness, kinda blaming everybody else for their failures.
They still claiming the festival will happen, despite already canceling one day, despite the fact we all know what’s about to happen.
Some of the bands booked there could have been booked somewhere else for the Italian fans to enjoy their shows. Fans often arrange their whole vacations around festivals, and they’ll find themselves once again left with nothing or very little. This is a damage for everybody.
At least they had guts to publicly claim they sold only 9 tickets for the canceled day (we’re talking a festival that should be AT LEAST 1000-1500 people a day to make the math work).
So, what about you all stop booking shows with this people?
There are PLENTY of GREAT, RELIABLE, HARD WORKING professionals in this country and great festivals for these bands to play (Metalitalia.com Festival, Frantic Fest 2022, Luppolo In Rock just to mention the ones I personally prefer), please help us getting the rid of these people, let’s take the chance to have a better festival season, next year, without all this circus happening.
Let’s make the metal business a better place, after all the difficulties we’ve been through, we deserve it.
