Repost from Arch Enemy
•
We are mourning the loss of our friend Dirk Lehberger. He took Arch Enemy through some very important and successful years as our booking agent and tour manager for close to a decade. Our thoughts and hearts are with his family and friends. Thank you Dirk for all the good times. We miss you.
FROM DARK TRANQUILLITY:
Our
friend and partner Dirk Lehberger has sadly and unexpectedly passed
away. For over a decade, Dirk has been our steadfast representation in
the live scene. We always felt prioritized and that he had the
sensitivities of our ambitions in mind. We're shocked and distraught to
learn about his passing, and our thoughts go to his family and the
people closest to him. Thank you for everything, Dirk. We will miss you
FROM NAILED TO OBSCURITY:
.We
are mourning the loss of our friend, Dirk Lehberger. He used to be our
booking agent, and without him, we would not be where we are now. But
first and foremost, he was a great person — always kind and ever ready
to help. It was always a pleasure to meet and hang out with him, and it
saddens us deeply to know that this won't be possible anymore. Our
thoughts are with his family and friends. Thank you, Dirk, for
everything. You will be missed.
FROM AREA 53 FESTIVAL:
Obituary - Dirk Lehberger
Late last week we received the sad news that our valued colleague and Area 53 co-founder passed away unexpectedly.
After a trial run and a low budget 1-day festival in 2017, Dirk bumped into us the same year, recognizing the hospitality of us Austrians - he himself was a native German and also noticed the potential of our festival. This resulted in Dirk being then in charge of our booking and we wanted to put on a big festival with him.
In this said year 2021 we had the most intense exchange with Dirk, because at least we had to coordinate a festival in the shortest possible time and comply with all the COVID regulations that were in place at the time, according to authority and we overcame this hurdle together.
Together we have spent countless hours, no common days in order to be able to implement our work professionally.
We worked together, laughed together, goofed together and as it should be - sometimes we didn't always agree - but at the end of the day, however, it was again, "All good" as he always said.
Also his daily "Moin Moin" remains in our memory - where as a Steirer I often thought to myself: "Yes, he's crazy, it's already afternoon. "- until he told us that this was a form of greeting during the day, too.
Dirk was responsible for us not only for the bookings in the rainy exchange with various bands, he also managed the Artist Production on site and coordinated with us the entire festival run.
Unfortunately, our paths parted early 2022, but in no way despised the appreciation of his person.
You were not just our team member, co-worker, booker, no Dirk, you were part of our family for the period of your presence.
You always stood out by your relaxed style, your professional appearance and made you feel very comfortable with us. Everyone who has dealt with you could recognize your professional approach and everyone noticed that you put your heart and blood into your work.
Everyone who knew you has their own memories of you and we are glad to have met you.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to your family, wife, daughter and close relatives.
Dirk - Have a good time on your last trip, last festival or last show.
We remember you as the German, the friend, as a team player and as a cool guy - you shaped our festival and we will continue to lead it in your spirit!
Here's to one last "good morning"
Your AREA 53 team from Leoben - Austria.
