However, due to unforeseen changes in personal circumstances, I was no longer able to dedicate the capacity needed to fully serve CRAFT, and I had to make the decision of stepping down, as I have also done with my involvement in other bands - leaving only Koldbrann and Jordsjuk as my continuing musical undertakings. An untimely end, indeed, but it was an honor. Forward, and demonspeed." -Mannevond

Beyond the Gates announce the first batch of bands for Beyond the Gates 2026 - Chapter XIV

It’s been a busy few days in the Beyond the Gates headquarters. The 2026 edition, which will be the fourteenth installment of the festival, is gradually taking shape. We figured that we should jump straight to it and give you a little taster of what’s to come next. We’re very happy to welcome back the mighty Emperor official, who will do a very special set featuring former members, Mortiis and Faust. Emperor is - as everyone knows - one of the most influential acts to ever emerge from Norway and has taken atmospheric black metal to heights no one ever would have dared dream of. We can’t wait to return to the roots with them when they hit the stage in the iconic Grieghallen.

Along with fellow Norwegians, 1349 (Official), Arcturus and Misotheist, and returning Imha Tarikat and The Ruins Of Beverast, the northerners will be joined by a vast selection of underground talent - which this first announcement to a large extent is focused on. Spectral Wound, Warning, Forteresse, Sulphur Aeon and Concrete Winds will all make their debut at Beyond the Gates next year.
