FROM INFERNO FEST 2027 PROMOTERS: 

 

Following the great response to our first artist announcement, we are ready with five more artists for Inferno Metal Festival 2027. This time around, we bring you everything from classic British death doom and German atmospheric black metal to Norwegian black metal, French «Metal Noir Marin» and Italian death doom. We give you Towards The Sinister, The Ruins Of Beverast, SARKOM, Houle and Shores Of Null.

TOWARDS THE SINISTER

If you are a big fan of British doom metal, the name Towards the Sinister might ring a bell. It was, after all, the title of the very first My Dying Bride demo, released in 1991. Three of the members who played on that demo, and who also helped form My Dying Bride, are now part of Towards the Sinister. In addition, Ade Jackson, who joined My Dying Bride that same year, is also part of Towards the Sinister. We are therefore talking about a classic line-up, and it is this era of My Dying Bride that the band will celebrate by playing only songs from the period between 1990 and 1996. If you are a fan of classic British death doom, Aaron Stainthorpe’s mournful vocals and classic My Dying Bride, this is one show you do not want to miss in 2027!

THE RUINS OF BEVERAST

The Ruins of Beverast are a German doomish black metal band started by Alexander von Meilenwald in 2003. Over the years, the band have released seven albums, with the latest, «Tempelschlaf», arriving earlier this year. The band’s music is characterised by a heavy atmosphere mixed with psychedelic elements, doom and black metal. The Ruins of Beverast last played Inferno Metal Festival in 2019, and with a new album out, we are looking forward to having them back with us.

SARKOM

Sarkom are a Norwegian black metal band who have been going since 2002 and have released five albums. Their latest album, «Exceed in2 Chaos», came out last year and received strong reviews from both fans and the press. The band are led by Unsgaard, while the line-up also includes several members known from other Norwegian black metal bands. Sarkom have not played live for nine years, so their return to Inferno Metal Festival will be a long-awaited one. The band promise uncompromising black metal, exactly the way it should be done.

HOULE

Houle are a relatively new band who released their debut album, «Ciel cendre et misère noire», in 2024. Their music is atmospheric black metal, standing out from the crowd thanks to vocalist Cafard’s unique voice. Houle’s lyrics are rooted in maritime themes, and the band have described their music as «Metal Noir Marin». After playing numerous major festivals around Europe, it is finally Norway’s turn, as their show at Inferno will be the band’s first-ever performance in the country.

SHORES OF NULL

Shores of Null are an Italian melancholic death doom band who have been active since 2013. In recent years, the band have toured extensively, playing more than 250 shows, including appearances at most of the major festivals across Europe. In October, the band will release their fifth album, entitled «Homesick». Shores of Null played their very first show in Norway at Inferno in 2016, back when they were still a young band just starting out, after winning a competition for the chance to perform at the festival. The band have come a long way since then, and we are very happy to welcome them back to Inferno more than ten years later.

FROM INTO THE NECROSPHERE: 

 

This week I’m joined by A.A. from the Norwegian black metal outfit Malum to dig into their excellent new album, “From The Voids”. We get into the band’s origins as a studio project, the evolution of their sound from their debut, “In Nauseam”, to the new record, and the intersection of Polish and Norwegian character that has emerged in their music. We also talk about taking Malum from the studio to the stage, their appearances at Inferno, the challenges of maintaining anonymity in the middle of Oslo’s black metal scene, and what the future might hold for a band that increasingly looks like it’s on the verge of becoming something much bigger.

On the weekly news rant, I’m joined by two surprise guests - long-time Legion General, @kelu666, and my good friend, Katy Irizarry from Suspiria PR. We celebrate the brilliance of the latest singles by Eldfodd and Manniveira, while wailing in despair at the career-worst humiliations offered by the new Pain and Fear Factory tracks. We also talk essential Metallica songs, bad tour booking and on my Swirly of the Week, the world’s worst bedroom techno dork pays a visit to the Porcelain Bowl of Reckoning.

“When Nate from Traffic Death approached me with this wild concept for a four-way split LP, I knew it would be a perfect place to showcase some of the non-album tracks [from the Red Asphalt sessions]. Roadside Attraction is one of my favorite tunes from the whole session, as it evokes the spirit of what we were trying to do back in the mid-90s. I even lifted a riff from those days for the bridge of the song to get a properly grimy vibe going.”

From Exhumed ’s gore-saturated deathgrinding savagery and NunSlaughter ’s unmistakable “Devil Metal,” to Molder ’s diseased old-school death metal and TRAFFIC DEATH ’s violent collision of crossover, grindcore, punk, doom and thrash — four distinct corners of the underground collide on one slab of wax.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Drummer Replacement — HATE (European Tour w/ Fear Factory)

Dear fans, friends and everyone following HATE on the road - due to unforeseen circumstances, we have a lineup change for the last 14 shows of our European tour supporting American metal legends, Fear Factory. Our current drummer Nar-Sil will be replaced by Jakub „Triglav” Muranowicz (Infernal Flame), who will take over the reins for the remainder of the tour (from Budapest date 23/9 onwards). Triglav also recently filled in for Nar-Sil at the Hell in the Shell Festival (PL), and needless to say, he delivered. He is a skillful and thunderous drummer and we look forward to having him onstage with us once more! See you out on the road!
