**Swedish black metal masters MARDUK are set for a three date mini U.S. tour this month and have issued this statement on their forthcoming CD "Wormwood". From MARDUK MYSPACE:

****** TRIPTYKON, the new black metal project featuring EX CELTIC FROST frontman John G. Warrior has returned to the studio and issued this update. FROM TRIPTYKON: As Celtic Frost arose from Hellhammer’s ashes, so arises Triptykon from Celtic Frost’s ashes.

Triptykon, the group formed by Tom Gabriel Warrior after his departure from Celtic Frost in April of 2008, is scheduled to commence studio recording sessions for a first album in mid-August 2009. The album, tentatively titled Eparistera Daimones, will mainly be recorded in southern Germany, with additional recording sessions to take place in Switzerland. Produced by Warrior and Triptykon guitarist V. Santura, the recording and mixing sessions are expected to continue until November 2009. The album is currently scheduled for release in spring of 2010, through the group’s own label, Prowling Death Records (home of Hellhammer and Celtic Frost).

Triptykon was created specifically to continue and further evolve the darkness invoked by its immediate precursors, seminal black/extreme metal pioneers Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. Accordingly, Triptykon's first album is a persistent development of the virulent and towering musical darkness perpetuated not only by Warrior's early work but also within his extensive contributions to Celtic Frost's highly acclaimed Monotheist album. As expected, a significant part of the music on the album consists of material written by Warrior during the past few years and originally intended for Monotheist's successor. This is balanced by new, original music written by Warrior and Santura since Triptykon's inception.

Although the group has so far proceeded in virtual concealment, the music for Eparistera Daimones has been described as akin to a bleak, black ocean of heaviness, accentuated by moments of unexpected grace. Songs currently under consideration for inclusion on Triptykon's debut album are, among others, "Myopic Empire", "Among Veiled Spirits", "Sepultus", "Abyss Within My Soul", "Goetia", "A Thousand Lies", and the 17-minute "The Prolonging".

Triptykon will follow the release of Eparistera Daimones with a number of festival appearances and a full tour. The group’s onstage debut is scheduled to take place as part of the renowned Roadburn Festival, in April 2010.

********Norwegian black metal legends DARKTHRONE will have completed a new CD in September according to NOCTURNO CULTO. FROM BWBK.COM: DARKTHRONE To Complete New Album In September
According to an update from DARKTHRONE's Nocturno Culto, the band are going to be finishing their new album in September. Remarked the black metal legend recently: "We have something strong going on these days, so prepare yourself for some good old fashioned metal journey!"

As previously reported, SARKE, the Norwegian band featuring Sarke (KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MAN'S CHILD, SENSA ANIMA) and Nocturno Culto, will be joined by the legendary Tom Gabriel Fischer (TRIPTYKON, ex-CELTIC FROST, HELLHAMMER) for their performance at this weekend's Wacken Open Air. Together, they will perform the Celtic Frost classic 'Dethroned Emperor'.

Sarke comments: "We are all massive fans of Tom and his music, and we are honored to share the stage with him at Wacken!"

Tom Gabriel Fischer adds: "It's an honor and a privilege to be invited to appear onstage with Sarke, a group whose lineup doesn't only contain personal friends but also musicians I respect deeply. We shall make our appearance at Wacken a truly special event!"

Sarke has, since the recording of the debut album Vorunah, grown to become a real band, and the live lineup is now officially part of the band.

Sarke's lineup is completed with Asgeir Mickelson (SPIRAL ARCHITECT, THORNBOUND, ex-BORKNAGAR), Cyrus (SUSPERIA) and Anders Hunstad (EL CACO, AUTOPULVER, MORTEN ABEL).

The band is working on new material, and a new album is expected in 2010.

************ Slovenia's blackened death metal warlords BLEEDING FIST has inked a deal with MORIBUND RECORDS as the bands new CD "Bestial Kruzifix666ion" is due out 9/29/09 on MORIBUND RECORDS.
************* CARPATHIAN FOREST bass player Vrangsinn's label MISANTROF have released a split from DEEP-PRESSION and EXETHERIS entitled "Train 'Exether' To D.P. State".
FROM MISANTROF: Created in late 2006 as single experimental cooperation between depressive black metal musician Trist and lyricist/artwork performer RH, DEEP-PRESSION is a multinational band, with members from Holland, Portugal, Mexico and Poland. According to RH, he decided to make the split with EXETHERIS because "they play strange fucked-up metal in a very original form and I respect Lord Exetheris as a person and as a friend, sharing many of the same viewpoints on life. DEEP-PRESSION had some unreleased material that was perfect for this sort of project and I think if I had to pick my favorite DEEP-PRESSION track from 'Train 'Exether' To D.P. State', it would have to be 'The Cold Water' which is mixed by M.v.K. and uses many fragments of songs from our third and fourth albums as well as others taken from my project INNERLESS SKIN ON A WATER. It's very complex, yet minimalist, and very long — 24 minutes in all."

EXETHERIS, on the other hand, is the solo project of Greek musician Lord Exetheris, who describes his music as death/black/ambient. Commenting on his decision to work with RH, and on the music itself, Exetheris said, "I've known RH for quite some time now. He did me a great favor when he contributed artwork and photographs for the 2008 EXETHERIS debut album. I was always a fan of the mood that DEEP-PRESSION create with their music, as well as being a fan of experimentation, so this collaboration with them is really a great opportunity for me to try something slightly different. The tracks 'Behind the Mirror', 'For The First And Last Time', 'New Orb, Same Black Colour', were recorded in July 2007. 'Heterotopia' and the other ambient tracks were finished in December 2008. This is mind tripping and cosmic travelling musick. The listener is invited to join us, maybe just close their eyes and follow the freeform soundscapes and all those vibes. No rules apply here and we follow no clichés!"
