HATE in full-swing! The album is set to be released in Europe in
November 2010, and in the USA in January 2011 as an extended version
containing a few additional live tracks. Once again, supporting
Decapitated, HATE will venture on a tour through Poland in October of

Paragon Records will unleash the third album from DIMENTIANON, New York’s masters of chaotic metal, on October 19th, 2010. Entitled Collapse The Void, the album epitomizes the turbulent mixture of black, death and doom metal that has become the band’s trademark style.
DIMENTIANON have been a force in New York City’s extreme metal scene since their formation in 1995, the band then known as The Forgotten. With countless regional concerts under their belts, and backed with a solid resume of releases including the band’s fist two full-lengths, multiple demos and a split release with funeral doom merchants Rigor Sardonicous, the DIMENTIANON of 2010 is by far the most powerful expression of the band’s chaotic nature to date. Founding member vocalist Mike Zanchelli has led the unit through many lineup changes, currently rounded out by returning bassist Maureen Murphy, drummer Pete Christopher and guitarist Zoltan Valter (Sectioned).
Collapse The Void was recorded and produced by producer Pete Rutcho (Revocation, Graveheart, Frozen, Ravage) and features five massive tracks;, the shortest being just over three minutes, yet with the two longer tracks running closer to nine minutes. A maniacal yet well-orchestrated display of crushing haunting black/death metal with plenty of unexpected twists throughout, the album will surely arouse interest in any diehard fan of underground extreme metal.

Virginia metal legends GWAR have entitled the bands new release "BLOODY PIT OF HORROR" set for a 11/9/2010 unleash date via METAL BLADE RECORDS. Fangoria has announced that it will be working with GWAR on the band's next music video. "Zombies, March!" will be the first clip from "Gwar's Bloody Pit Of Horror", and will be shot in Richmond, Virginia during September and October with Fangoria's own David McKendry.
McKendry (who just finished directing MUNICIPAL WASTE's video for "Acid Sentence") is very excited to be working with this legendary group of monsters.
"When a few of the band members approached me about directing the video, I was pretty sure they were going to kill me and take my wallet, or kill my wallet and take me (it was a hard situation to read)," he said. "But apparently it was legit, and they really want me to direct a video.
"I had always been a huge fan of GWAR's music. Plus the constant threat of being hurled into the jaws of GorGor keeps me on my toes."
Said infernal overlord and GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus: "When I found out we were working with Fangoria on our new video, I immediately sacrificed 50 Norwegian babies on my Burning Altar of Syphilis. This has led to a huge reaction from the undead community; I mean they were literally coming through the walls! Indeed, I think we are going to have to have some kind of zombie try-outs...
"I don't want to be stuck with mostly old people and o.d.s. We are going for some real variety and everything from fresh abortions to chain-gunned Taliban members will be appearing!"

"Heaven Is Gone" was released in the United States on April 21, 2009 via Vinnie Paul's (PANTERA, HELLYEAH) Big Vin Records. The CD sold around 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. It debuted at No. 21 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"We sent [Vinnie] one song," Hickey told DallasObserver.com, "and he really liked it. So we never really took it anywhere else. We wanted someone who believed in it. And Vinnie does."
"From the moment I first heard them, I full-on loved it," Vinnie said. "It's a new band, but when other people hear it, they'll know too. It's just an old-school sound with a new attitude. Something different than all the LINKIN PARKs and HOLLYWOOD UNDEADs out there right now."

FROM SAN FRANCISCO GATE: Sept. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Blockbuster Inc., the world's biggest movie-rental company, filed for bankruptcy after failing to adapt its storefront model to online technology pioneered by rivals such as Netflix Inc.
The company listed assets of $1.02 billion against debt of $1.46 billion on a Chapter 11 petition filed today in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York. The company said it reached a deal with a group of bondholders on a plan of reorganization and secured a $125 million loan to finance operations.
"To preserve its three-decade long developed brand value, Blockbuster seeks a restructuring that permits a significant deleveraging of its business so that it can move forward at the digital clip at which its industry and competitors are currently running," Jeffery Stegenga, the company's restructuring officer, said in a court filing.
Sales at Dallas-based Blockbuster, with about 3,000 stores in the U.S., shrank in recent years while Netflix grew by renting movies online and through the mail, and Coinstar Inc. put Redbox DVD vending machines in supermarkets and drugstores.
The $125 million in secured financing from senior noteholders represents new cash availability. On an interim basis before final approval, $45 million would be available. The financing is to have a lien ahead of existing debt. The financing also calls for converting $250 million of existing secured debt into a new loan with a lien ahead of existing debt.
Largest Creditors
Under the proposed plan, there will be no recovery by the holders of the company's outstanding subordinated debt, preferred stock or common stock, according to the statement. Blockbuster anticipates it will pay something to unsecured creditors, court papers show. Blockbuster Video Italy Inc., Blockbuster International Spain Inc., Blockbuster Canada Inc. and nine other units also sought protection.
The company's largest trade creditor is Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment with a $21.6 million claim, followed by Warner Home Video Inc. with a claim of $19 million and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment with a claim of $13.3 million, according to today's filing. Among others waiting to be paid by Blockbuster are Coca-Cola Enterprises, which is owed $703,412, and the advisory firm Moelis & Co., owed $254,050.
The filing "provides the optimal path for recapitalizing our balance sheet and positioning Blockbuster for the future, as we continue to transform our business model to meet the evolving preferences of our customers," Chief Executive Officer Jim Keyes said in a statement today. Keyes owns almost 1.4 million shares and options on another 7.8 million shares.
Icahn Bonds
Billionaire Carl Icahn bought about one-third of Blockbuster's bonds as of Sept. 17, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Icahn, 74, a former director of the company, led a proxy fight in 2005 to put himself and two nominees on the board. Last March, he cut his stake in the company to 3.5 percent by selling stock. He left the board in January. He is working with a group of senior creditors in the reorganization plan, the people said.
Before deciding on a bankruptcy financed by senior lenders, Blockbuster said it spent "significant time" through the spring and summer this year discussing potential financing deals with other companies. They included two "large, financially capable strategic parties" and other investors. None of them offered sufficient money for the company to cut its debt enough, Blockbuster said in a court filing.
Bondholder Support
Blockbuster has support for its reorganization plan from a group of bondholders holding about 80.1 percent of the company's 11 3/4 percent senior-secured notes, it said. The notes will be exchanged for equity in the reorganized company. Swedish atmospheric doomsters KATATONIA recently lost equipment and gear in a robbery during the bands tour stop in St. Paul, Minn. on Saturday. FROM NOISECREEP:
Katatonia had hit the U.S. for their first tour of the region in over three years when they were robbed. Two guitars, straps and wireless transmitters were jacked from the band's tour stop in St. Paul, Minn. on Saturday.
The band issued the following statement regarding the matter: "Unfortunately tonight's gig reached an all time low. Two of our guitars got stolen (including our straps with wireless transmitters), obviously causing performance difficulties, frustration and anger. Then against all odds, further technical problems kept on coming down one after another during the show. Apologies goes out to our fans in Minnesota for having to go through this." Minnesotans are probably bummed out that their fellow statesmen committed such a grievous injustice against Katatonia.
Incidentally, the stolen Mayones guitars were to be the grand prize in two Katatonia giveaways that were launched in celebration of the otherwise extremely successful headlining run on the Night Over North America Tour. Fans are encouraged to check Craigslist, eBay, local pawn shops and other possible avenues for the thieves to hock the missing gear.
Despite the theft, the band will continue along the tour route for the next two weeks. Also KATATONIA WILL tour Scandinavia soon. UK black metal warriors ANAAL NATHRAKH will kick off a European tour this week. FROM ANAAL NATHRAKH: Owing to an unforeseen conjunction of circumstances, it suddenly became possible to arrange a short tour of various parts of Europe. So we attacked the opportunity. The dates join the previously arranged shows at the Meh Suff! and Damnation festivals, and the show with Triptykon in Athens.
Given the comparatively last minute nature of the tour, we appreciate anything anyone can do to help get word around and make them all the memorable orgies of spit and hatred that they are destined to be. One or two may be added to this list, depending on availability.
With the exception of Leeds, we have never played in any of these cities before and look forward hugely to the opportunity to destroy pieces of our souls for your entertainment.

Why wouldn't anyone try to contact the actual booking agent, or Gwar, or clubs hosting shows??
I mean, if you were interested in getting a free guitar from Gibson, would you ask the guy with the hose out back, spraying out the dumpster?? I think I've made my point... =)

A Beaurocratic Desire for Extra Capsular Extraction contains the entire 1990 Smegma Studios sessions which are the debut recordings from EARTH.
Previously available scattered via the Extra Capsular Extractions EP and Sunn Amps and Smashed Guitars CD, this essential collection contains every note from the infamous first EARTH recording sessions. All 7 tracks have been carefully remastered by Mell Dettmer. It is actually questionable what mastering if any was done on the original tracks so we entrusted the task into the very capable hands of Mell who has mastered all the other EARTH releases via Southern Lord. Bearing exclusive artwork by Simon Fowler and package design via Stephen O'Malley, the end result is a burly, mammoth and crushing audio experience that makes this collection a must have even for the diehards that own previous versions of these recordings.
EARTH was founded by Dylan Carlson circa 1989, and in its infant stages contained several different members including Slim Moon (Kill Rock Stars label), Joe Preston (Thrones, Melvins, sunn 0))), High on Fire) and even Dylan's close friend Kurt Kobain. Unbeknownst to Mr. Carlson at the time was that his seemingly simplistic experimentation with heavy music would literally spawn an entire genre, style and sound borrowing from his musical theories. This collection of the very first recordings is an important insight into understanding the birth of this sound; a foreshadowing of the thunder to come.

THE KIRBY ORGANIZATION and founder DAVE KIRBY succumbed to prostate cancer last Saturday, RIP to DAVE KIRBY and hails to TKO BOOKING AGENCY. Dave was diagnosed in 2009, and upon receiving the news that his condition was inoperable and terminal, elected to take a backseat in the control of the company in order to spend his final months with his family — his wife Christine, and teenage sons David and Alex. While the cancer had taken a toll, he died in his own home, in his own bed, with dignity, and surrounded by love. He was 56 years old.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (www.pcf.org) in Dave Kirby's name. To share memories of Dave Kirby, please visit davekirby.1000memories.com. A memorial is planned for late October, with details to be forthcoming.
