MOONDARK: SIGN RECORD DEAL WITH CYCLONE EMPIRE RECORDS

Swedish death doom warriors MOONDARK have inked a deal with CYCLONE EMPIRE RECORDS.

MOONDARK released "Shadowpath" (DEMO RE-ISSUE) 5/2015 via XTREEM MUSIC.

We are completely proud to announce the signing of the Swedish Doomed Death underground sensation MOONDARK!

Hailing from Avesta, in the Swedish Dalarna County, MOONDARK are one of the oldest and hottest underground acts with a history hailing back to the year 1993, when they recorded their legendary first demo, before 3 of the band members formed the cult band DELLAMORTE.
We are very happy to welcome these lovely guys in our little CYCLONE EMPIRE family!
New material and their first ever official album will be coming soon, and we keep you posted as soon as there´s anything more to let you know (some first infos can be found below at Johan´s statement)…expect some REAL heavy shit coming in 2016!!!

Biography/Info:
MOONDARK was formed in a cold and dark winter night in the beginning of 1993 by Johan Jansson and Kennet Englund when they rehearsed covers of CRYPT OF KERBEROS, ETERNAL DARKNESS and BOLT THROWER etc. In the beginning Johan played guitar because he created most of the songs in MOONDARK and Kennet played drums. Then Mattias Norrman joined on guitar and Mats "Mabbe" Berggren on bass and vocals. After some rehearsals when the songs took shape, Johan and Kennet switched instruments.
In the end of August 1993 MOONDARK entered Soundline Studios in Avesta and recorded 7 songs and these got engineered & mixed by Per Samuelsson and MOONDARK. The demo was simply named "Demo#1" and was supposed to be sent to labels for a record deal but unfortunately that didn’t happen because of laziness. The tape was just home printed in a couple of copies and was only given away to some friends...
MOONDARK played live once at Musikhuset in Avesta 1st October 1993 together with UNCANNY and GREEDKICK. The concert was caught on video and it still remains on the classic format VHS. After the show MOONDARK was laid down to rest forever and the members continued with their other bands and projects...
14 Years later, special thanx go to Swedish Dreamtide Music as they resurrected the old recordings in a extremely limited edition on CD, entitled "The Shadowpath", and also the demo got released on Digipack-CD by a German label and on LP by Spanish label Temple Of Darkness in 2007. The artwork and layout was made by our friend and graphic designer Costin Chioreanu at Twilight13media Design.
In 2014 MOONDARK did their first live appearance since 1993 at the funeral edition of legendary Killtown Deathfest at Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen, Denmark. The show was a total success and the lineup was including Kennet, Mattias and Johan with the new members Allan Lundholm on bass and Alexander Högbom on growls. In March 2015 they played another show at Wolfthrone Support Festival in Paris, France and more gigs will hopefully be done from now and on…
In May 2015 Spanish label Xtreem Music re-issued “The Shadowpath” on CD with new amazing artwork made by Juanjo Castellano. The release was more complete with bio, photos and all the lyrics included. The LP re-issue will be following in 2016.

"We’re very pleased that we have inked a deal with Cyclone Empire! We know the guys since a couple of years so it feels great to be a part of their roster of killer bands. We’re excited to release our first “real” debut album on their label!
We can already reveal that three songs have been made and that we will go into writing mode this autumn to complete the album. Expect old Doomy, slow Death Metal with no fashionable modish riffs, it will be heavy as hell!"
