ITP V.019 SPORTS: U.S.A. WOMEN'S SOCCER BEATS NETHERLANDS 2-0 IN WORLD CUP

U.S.A. Women's Soccer team has beaten NETHERLANDS 2-0 to win the WORLD CUP.

USA clinched their fourth #FIFAWWC title with a 2-0 defeat of first-time finalists the Netherlands. The match began tentatively as both sides looked to find their rhythm. It was the reigning champions who got into gear quickest though and it was only thanks to Dutch keeper Sari van Veenendaal that the scores remained level at the break. While she continued to keep the US at bay in the second half, she could do little when a penalty handed Megan Rapinoe the chance to fire home and clinch the adidas Golden Boot in the process. But the pinnacle of the match came when Rose Lavelle - the breakout star of this USA side - strode elegantly through midfield before firing home a goal worthy of winning any tournament.
