Dayton, Ohio mass murderer CONNER BETTS was in a controversial porno grind band MENSTRUAL MUNCHIES as the metal scene has spoken out against the CONNER BETTS.On 8/4/2019 CONNER BETTS. shot and killed nine people (including his sister) and injured 27 more in the nightlife district of DAYTON OHIO, the third mass U.S. mass shooting in less then a week.
During the shooting CONNER BETTS was allegedly wearing a the ACACIA STRAIN hoodie as a conservative Ohio journalist blamed metal culture.

This is in no way a support of Pornogrind, nor is it any sort of commentary on the genre. This said, Grindcore will always provide an outlet for positive change in our world. Grindcore has changed my life in ways that I could not explain. In fact, it effect me so much that I decided to make a film on it.
Seeing that the Dayton Shooter was on the periphery of our community is upsetting, but let's not make this at the forefront of our opinions on him. Music does not make people murder. Music does not make make people sick.
We need better mental health resources. Period. People are sick, people are being killed, and the media will always scapegoat an easy target.

Men in “leftist metal” bands or whatever: maybe it’s time to be A LOT more publicly outspoken about your zero tolerance policy on misogyny.
And to be clear, there is no “maybe” about this. Men like the dayton shooter are coming to your shows and buying your music and maybe fucking playing shows with you. Your silence on these matters enables them.
If you have an online presence, it is time to make your position absolutely, incontrovertibly clear, and to keep doing it no matter how tedious or annoying it seems and no matter how many fans you lose. That’s your fucking job now. That’s the world we live in.
Make obviously political banners to play in front of. Table zines at all of your shows. Signal boost women/trans folks/poc ENDLESSLY. TALK TO OTHER MEN.
I don’t ever want to hear “lol that guy is fucked” again. If you see red flags, do something about it. It’s not a fucking joke.
This goes for any man in any scene anywhere. If you have a fucking platform, use it. Otherwise you’re not just a waste, you’re a danger

It goes without saying, our thoughts are with those who have lost a loved one, to such recent tragedy. We support underground music as an art form, for entertainment purposes and do not condone or encourage violence on any human, animal, property or other.
However, music is being blamed once again for the actions taken by one. The media will full take advantage of this unfortunate situation to blame underground music and their fans as a scapegoat.
There are plenty of sick fucks out there. We hope they get the mental help they much need.

Won’t get political on here. Like they did 20 years ago at Columbine they’re now attacking extreme music. I’ll say most of the porno grind dudes I know are just gentle guys who make the most shocking music. In general metal heads from what I have seen are gentle dudes who just wanna watch anime and pet cats. I have already gotten some weird looks in my metal gear. Today while wearing ur metal shirts do something nice for a stranger. Open that door for an old lady while wearing a Dying Fetus shirt. Give that homeless person a dollar while wearing a Cattle Decapitation shirt. Let the grumpy looking dude who has a few items less than u cut u in line while u wear a Disentomb or Visceral Disgorge shirt. Help turn the public perception around or at least go back to ignoring us. The metal community had nothing to do with these shootings or any in the past
