Woodstock, New York, U.S.A. music venue COLONY has posted the below statement on a hate crime incident in New York City as the suspect was wearing a COLONY mask.

Last night in Atlanta, Georgia, 21 year old ROBERT AARON LONG shot and killed 8 (6 women) Asians at multiple massage parlors as he allgeddy was motivated by a sex addiction.

Regarding the horrible incident in NYC where a woman in a taxi cab engaged in a racist, hate-filled anti-Asian tirade towards a couple, while wearing a mask from our establishment: Please understand the Colony has absolutely no connection with this person in any way shape or form other than she happens to be wearing one of our masks. We find her attitude, words and actions to be absolutely abhorrent and sickening. The Colony is very much an inclusive and community-minded music and entertainment venue that stands for the values long embraced by the Woodstock music and arts community where we are located - we are just heartbroken to to have our logo associated with this unfortunate event in any way. Anyone espousing such hate-filled sentiments is not welcome to attend events at our establishment. From this point forward all proceeds from the many masks we sell will be donated to organizations devoted to working against racism, discrimination and hate, and working to dismantle white supremacy.
