FROM JEFF SMITH (PHOTOGRAPHER):

Absolutely devastating and shocking news...
Frank Pallet, Owner of the Chance Theatre has passed away.
I had been talking, texting Frank earlier this year and the summer/fall of last year about coming to the Chance Theatre and doing a shoot of the entire venue. He liked the idea except he was doing alot of repairs and renovations that would take some time to complete... so I waited.
I'd known Frank Pallet for many years, and he was always very helpful in helping me get a photo pass and access to different artists that performed there.
I eventually knew most of the staff there including Frank's wife Michelle, and his sister Carolyn, Nikki, and Joe Raap.
My condolences, sympanthys and prayers to everyone especially to Frank's wife Michelle and their children.
RIP Sir !!!

FROM ASUNA:

It is with our deepest of condolences and our most heaviest of hearts, that we say goodbye to a man who shaped an entire music scene. Frank Pallet was not only a venue owner, he genuinely put his heart and soul into that building, and that stage. If it wasn’t for that building, a lot of us would have never found the music that we hold so dear, and never have discovered most of our favorite bands. Music to some people is just music, but to people like us, MUSIC IS EVERYTHING! Thank you for opening up your home to us. Thank you for giving us a seat at your table. We will forever be grateful for the opportunities you opened up for us. Next time we open up a pit it goes out to you! Rest In Power. Frank Pallett.

FROM RIK BRESCIA:

Hug your friends and family! Check in on people in your circle who you haven't talked to in some time. Below is a private message that I sent to Frank Pallet (owner of the Chance) the night he went into the hospital. Frank and I have known each other for more than 30 years. We were never super close, had major political and social differences but he was always a gentleman and I thought fondly of him. Always a hug when I'd walk into The Chance and when we played there, he was always more than a gracious host.
I'd really like one of those hugs now man.
I know he never saw the message but who knows….maybe he will now.
RIP my friend.
"Hey, I know we didn't always see eye to eye on a lot of things outside of music. But I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts right now. When it came down to it, you were always a friend, always a fan of whatever band I was in, and always complimentary. I love you my friend and wish you a full and speedy recovery. I know you're not reading this right now, but I really hope you see it soon. Much love to you, Michelle and the kids. ❤️".

FROM NEW YORK STATE SENATOR SUE SERINO:

Our community recently lost a major champion for local music when we lost our friend and neighbor, Frank Pallett.
Like so many, I have amazing memories from time spent at The Chance Theater and our community won’t be the same without him. Frank himself was an incredibly talented musician and his dedication to providing a platform for others won’t be forgotten. It always seems especially hard when we lose someone who was so full of life, but we know that his legacy will live on through the music he loved so much.
Our hearts are with his family, and the friends he loved like family, during this difficult time.

FROM MATCHBOX ROMANCE:
The band sends our condolences and all of our love to the family of The Chance Theater owner, Frank Pallett. It was Frank that gave us our first opportunity to open for a national act, promoted our very first headlining show, and it was him who happily welcomed us back for reunion shows. We are proud to have brought so many bands through Poughkeepsie to share that little alleyway we call home. RIP, Frank!

FROM POWER THEORY:

We at Power Theory are saddened to hear of the passing of the owner of the Chance Theater, Frank Pallett. Frank's contribution to the Hudson Valley NY's music scene and society in general cannot be measured. His club is one of the last standing pure concert clubs on the east coast, and it hosted more legendary acts than you can imagine, as well as being a haven for local bands to be able to play live.
We were honored to have been able to set foot on that stage for one of the last shows before covid hit, and we thank Frank for giving us that opportunity.
We hope his family and many, many friends somehow find solace in the fact that he was so well loved in the community. Godspeed Frank.

FROM CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE  FIRE DEPARTMENT:
The Local 596 is saddened to learn of the passing of Frank Pallett. Frank was a well-known local figure and business owner and was a steadfast supporter of the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department and our members. We offer our sincere condolences to Frank’s family and friends during this extremely difficult time. Frank was always welling to help anyway he could. And for that he we never be forgotten.
