WARHORNS FESTIVAL 2023, set to take place 9/1st and 2nd, 2023 @ DRAX SPORTS CLUB, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND have postponed headliners until KALMAH and SUOTANA UNTIL 9/7/2024.
FROM WARHORNS FESTIVAL 2023 PROMOTERS:
We have an unfortunate announcement to make that with just over 3 weeks to go, we have not hit the expected advance ticket sales for Warhorns Late Summerfest 2023. We honestly thought that on the strength of booking Kalmah we would have once again sold out like we did in 2018 – it’s a similar venue, the same capacity and in a similar location. However, it has become clear that the climate has changed in the last 5 years, and therefore this has not happened. We have never tried to aim beyond our limits with Warhorns, and thought that by bringing back a very successful previous headliner, we would again fill the venue.
As a consequence of this, and to ensure Warhorns' survival, we have decided to downgrade this year’s event by postponing our headline band, Kalmah, and one of our special guests, Suotana until 7th September 2024. We know how important Warhorns Festival is on the calendar of our many loyal regular attendees, and we have also considered the other excellent bands on this year’s bill, who have already made travel arrangements and are looking forward to playing. Whatever happens, our utmost priority has been to keep the festival alive.
We know that some of you have bought Saturday day tickets especially to see these two bands. Should any of you want a refund or rollover for next year, please get in touch directly and we’ll sort it. Nonetheless, almost all of our advance ticket sales are from regulars and we sincerely hope that you'll understand that this was not a decision we have taken lightly, and that you'll continue to support us. We’ve been putting on Warhorns events since 2011 and have experienced adversity before, many times, and always come through it stronger - cancelling is not an option, we will survive and move forward. We held a meeting earlier in the week and have put together a model that we feel will ensure something like this never happens again.
We take this opportunity to apologise to everyone involved and also thank Kalmah, Suotana & their management for their understanding and we look forward to hosting them next year. What a line-up 2024 promises to be

There will be at least one more band added to the bill. We still think the line-up is outstanding despite the loss of 2 excellent bands.
