RAGNAROK: IHIZAHG BJARKAN and MARK VARGBLOD AZZOPARDI LEAVE THE BAND

Norwegian black metal warriors RAGNAROK have announced guitarist IHIZAHG BJARKAN and bassist MARK VARGBLOD AZZOPARDI have left the band.

RAGNAROK unleashed "NON DEBELLICATA", 11/15/2019 via AGONIA RECORDS.

Yesterday Ragnarok's founder & iconic drummer Jontho Panthera issued a very honest, soul-baring statement about where he finds himself now after almost 30 years in this business. He is, without a doubt, one of the greatest Black Metal drummers EVER. and it has been my absolute honour to have worked by his side for 12 or so of those years. This business does not make for the easiest of careers and many fall by the wayside, but I know Jontho, and I know how much talent he has, and how much he still has to bring to the music scene. So, like all his fans, I'll be waiting to see what the future holds. Below you will find his statement in full, and I thought you'd all like to see the video of Ragnarock's most famous track which shows just what a hell of a musician he is...

"Again big changes has struck the band!

A sad one since Ihizahg Bjarkan and Mark Vargblod Azzopardi decided to leave the band and continue their journey together without Jontho Panthera .

It is very hard for me but I have not been easy to work with and struggled with too much personal issues that destroyed their motivation and their creativity to not mention their beliefs in me !

I wish them all the best and they really tried to be patient with me!

I was and are very proud of them, and I had one of the best line up and the most dedicated musicians ever since the first line up.

But unfortunately I was not at the same level and literally disappointed my brothers!

But I have learned a lot, and this loss really have helped me realize that I have a lot of work to do with my inner demons , and get back the control over my life, my demons and embrace what and who I really are and the passion for what ragnarok means to me!

Sometimes and after soon 30 years I have lost alot of the true me!

Now that it is very clear for me that I have been weak and the loss is hard , it also woke up something in me that I believe is the start of me getting stronger again.

I will build up slowly and work hard to find my self again, prioritize what is important and not waste time on feel sorry for my self and be passive and paralyzed by action!

I also understand that you get confused, loose interest in ragnarok cause it is chaotic!

But I have at this point decided to not give up! I will continue Ragnarok but in what kind of way I need to find out!

My goal is clear! Grow as a person, rebuild the band and what I have accomplished and stand for my statement 25 years ago!

Ragnarok dies when I die!

I will keep the black flame alive! And all Of you are very welcome to follow the development and enjoy the light of the flame who will burn bright once again!
