BLACK LION RECORDS have stated 2024 was the worst year for the record label, as they look to rebound in 2024.
FROM BLACK LION RECORDS:
2024 has been the worst year in our history for many reasons. We didn’t meet our targets anywhere, achieving the lowest revenue in three years. There’s still so much more to do! We lost many key partners and important income streams, but I suppose that’s just part of business—people come and go.
This year has been filled with distractions, differing visions, and setbacks, and honestly, I don’t even know where to begin. Most of you are already aware of the challenges we’ve faced. We’ve experienced the consequences of various rushed decisions and perhaps should have approached some things more cautiously. But hey, you live and learn!
Unfortunately, running a business doesn’t come with its own guidebook, but death comes with its guidebook.
Despite everything, we managed to release 26 albums in the few months we had, although things got messy in the end. We will find a way to get back on track eventually. All I know for now is that 2025 is a big question mark—a blank chapter. Normally, we would be deep into planning by now, but not this time. I think I’m just going to wish for a better year ahead, as every time I plan and try to stay organized, something seems to derail us.
thanks to all amazing bands and people we met and to all people who supported us throughout the years !
