Susanna Berglund, curator of the exhibition, comments:
"I call the exhibition ‘Camera Obscura’ after the iconic band photo which was taken in a dark room, lit only by candlelight. It is also a play of words with how the camera captured the obscurity from where they emerged, to the massive fanbase they have today.
I have picked photos from Jørn ‘Necrobutcher’ Stubberud’s private collection and used his storytelling to bring it to life for the viewer, alongside some never before shown artifacts.
Three classic photos will be for sale, in a limited, exclusive edition, signed by the band.
My artistic touch on the exhibition is that I have used vintage frames and matte canvas fabric from the 80’s and 90’s as a subtle hint from the dark past.
We have a special guest appearance by Stockholm legends Morbid included in the exhibition, which ties nicely to the 40 years celebration show and the connection between Norway and Sweden via Per Yngve Ohlin, a.k.a Dead, in this piece of extreme metal history."
